So I got Borderlands for the holidays and it is loads of fun. A lot of people say its too easy, but I must be missing something. In Sledges safehouse I battle around 3/4 way(playing alone) through and get to the Final Boss Room. I die, badly, but respawn to find all the enemies I had killed earlier where respawned, even the ones behind me were respawned.

Does this happen often? Any tips on how to stay alive?

Stay in the hallway and pop the door everyfew seconds to take out the trash and thow pot shots at sledge. Its cheap but if you don't have the gear to get it done anyother way..... it works.

All the enemies have a respawn timer, just like in an MMO.

If you take more than 10-15 minutes in an area, enemies will begin to respawn.

I have the opposite problem with FO3: GOTY I beat anchorage at a low level and now am far too ridiculously overpowered to continue playing it on normal.

Tips on staying alive, use cover.

What class are you using? It might help if you abuse your character's ability more. I also found there to be a small cat-walk/alcove with a bunch of lockers behind and to the right from where you walk in. It was a great place to seek cover because you can't get anyone coming from behind you. You have to be careful not to get trapped, but you can usually run past sledge as he comes for you because he's too slow to do anything about you running in circles around him. Worst-case scenario, you might want to find a better weapon or one that you are more proficient in. It doesn't take too many point-blank shots with a sniper rifle to kill most anyone, including bosses.

Heres a tip to stay alive, PLAY WITH FRIENDS. The game is made to be played with others, use that to your advantage. Because if you die and respawn before your buddy dies then the enemies wont respawn.

And BTW, do whatever you can to get Sledges shotgun, its a great little thing.

Borderlands is very easy.

Just do all of the side missions, that way you will stay ahead of the difficulty curve by levelling up.

sledge kicked my ass too, and you wouldn't happen to be a mordiki(SP?) would you? the games a little tougher as them because they are meant to be support, not face to face fighters like in sledge's battle. the game was pretty difficult for me at the beginning, and the 'brains' quest line is a *****.

Not getting shot? I thought that was fairly basic....

Seriously though,

1. Get a shield with regenerating health

2. Always care medical supplies

3. Don't rush in, and use cover

4. Play with friends. Yes, enemies get stronger, but 4 guns > 1 gun

5. Use your special ability when it's most needed

The Safehouse... so you're fighting the Roid Rage Psycho, and not Sledge himself?

Your class/build could matter, especially if you can use your special ability to heal yourself. As for the boss himself, he's big and powerful, but he's pretty slow. If you have a weapon with a high fire rate, I'd suggest that you keep backing away from him while trying to go for headshots. SMGs are my personal favorite, and they can help you a lot in this fight. If it has a fire/explosive attribute, all the better, since he has no shields. If he throws grenades, try to strafe them. Worst comes to worst, try to save some of the Midget Psychos for a Second Wind. (Or Third... or Fourth.)

I had a bit of a tough time with him as Mordecai playing solo, but I managed to survive by switching to a gun with elemental damage and using hit and run tactics.

I didn't have that much of a problem playing with Mordecai at all...then again I still mostly fought with shotguns and magnums lol.

Make some friends, and get them to help you.
