So, having canceled my preorder for a certain neutered game that shall not be mentioned in this thread. I've decided to buy borderlands. To all Borderlands players on PC, what can I expect out of this game? Is the 4 player co-op something like Left 4 Dead? I remember reading something bout setting it up for online play not being as simple as it should, can anyone address this for me?

If you can get the multiplayer to work, then it is an awesome game. Have fun fucking around with your router settings!

It's diablo with guns. You quest, kill stuff, loot their bodies, go back to camp, sell your loot, equip the decent ones, rinse and repeat. Sounds like a grind? Well, let me tell you this, I quit WoW by l-50 because of the grind, yet I 'grinded' more in Borderlands than I ever did in WoW, and why didn't I quit yet?

I'll let you find out. ;)

Does it tell you what you have to do for it to work? Or is it a Bon Chance! figure it out yourself deal.

I played a WOW demo once, and all I did was kill stuff in hopes of getting a cool drop. So yes, this does sound like the bees knees lol.

Awesome game. Im on a rare hunt, must fill 43 slots with oranges and purples!

Just like to add, this was my face when i was against a level 51 Spiderqueen Ultimate. It was such a fun, yet hard challenge!

I suggest you go Siren, otherwise known as the best class ever (although most people will tell you Soldier).

I absolutely love borderlands. I have been a member following the GBX forums, and all i can say is that i have been reading about alot of PC issues with the game. might just wanna research some of the issues and maybe even wait for a patch. I highly recommended the game, but as of now, it seems to be riddled with problems.

Also, how good will it run on a PC that can run, oh I don't know, Fallout 3 on High? Cause system requirement charts sometimes are too generalized to get a good feel for how it will run.

The co-op isn't quite like L4D, insofar as you can't jump in and start blasting, because of the levelling system. It's easy enough to set up a game with friends.

It's not that great anyway. Imagine something somewhere between L4D and Fallout 3 but not half as good as either and you get the idea.

TBH I didn't like it. It never overly appealed to me from the beginning when the hype machine set it's talons into it, but the whole broken game thing really put me off. When I finally did get it working I discovered it was every bit as mediocre as I'd imagined. Hope you have more fun with it than I did.

Get it. Just get it.

Its addictive, the first 5 hours may seem like a bad first impression, but it picks up, and if you play it with friends, it's one of the best games I've played in years.
Yeah, I don't want to make new characters because the first 5 levels suck so much. I mean, it's just a tutorial - you can't buy guns, utility, can't use any skills, can't get a car... Tutorial, it later picks up later and holds you in its grasp for a long time.

I got the game 3 weeks ago and that trailer makes me want to buy it again.

I don't know about that. Brick can pretty much annihilate anything in his path when he goes beserk

At first..... I didnt really want to buy the game. But last night, due to several friends that dont even have the game yet, I droped the cash.
From this point on I can honestly say I have no regrets about it. I can actually say, its the most fun I have had in a while. The game just felt good. I have not had the opportunity to get the multiplayer going. But I am looking forward to getting a solid group of people going.

In warning I will say that you shouldent look to this game if your buying something to replace that other game. (You know that one we are not suposed to talk about.) In that sense start playing BF2 or 2142 (Thats a real fight.)

Phase walk it one of the coolest things I have seen in a long time.

its a great game, been playing it for a while now, best played with friends though.
try not to let other people dissuade you because they didn't like one thing.
