Borderlands Pre-Sequel goes Halloween!

I was playing the new Borderlands game earlier today and nothing was out-of-the-ordinary. However, when I turned it on five minutes ago, the usual stacks of paper money that you collect have turned into pieces of candy!

Have any of you seen a game do this outside of an MMO? This is my first time seeing it.

Abyss Odyssey added Jack O Lanterns to the dungeon for Halloween. Other than that I don't know.

Demon's Souls used to do holiday events. pretty sure Halloween was a pure black world tendency event. But no candy and pumpkins

Destiny has given you 3 Pumpkin head helmets, sadly they only last 30 mins each

CoD 4 on PC had a haloween themed Overgrown map...but not for the console versions

I love games that do this though, very nice touch

Terraria is currently in Halloween mode. Many of the mobs wear costumes, pumpkins grow naturally, hearts have been replaced with candy, and all mobs have a 1 in 50 chance to drop a goodie bag on death, filled with either a costume, spooky item or rotten eggs for throwing at people.

Sadly the boss isn't worth it, he spawns in an area that caps drops at level 27-29. So you can't get a level-appropriate version of the gun if you're higher than that, at least not via the event.

It's a pretty rubbish gun anyway though.

Yeah I read about the event yesterday but it's not worth it for me since I'm still playing the story (haven't reach TVHM yet) and even then the rest of my lower level characters are level 7 and reach Concordia meaning fighting Undeadlift will be easy and trying to get that halloween weapon is useless for my character (I read that it's only level 4).

Surprised they didn't include Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode out of the box as it's infinitely replayable and caps to your level automatically. That way everyone gets the Level 50 gear they want and it doesn't get in the way of raising the level cap later.

actually you can get level 50 jack o' cannon. all you need to do is beat TVHM, then everything scales to your level. weird people haven't figured this out, BL1 and BL2 both did this as well.

Well I updated my copy of Prison Architect was happily seeing what they had done during the bug bash update only to hear what sounded very much like a certain MJ tune start playing, had a quick scout round the prison to find this going on in my prison yard.

Have any of you seen a game do this outside of an MMO? This is my first time seeing it.

TF2 has Halloween events every year where they update a map to make it Halloween themed and add a boss and a new gamemode to it and have new Halloween themed item drops. This year's is pretty lackluster though.

Payday 2 has a Halloween themed heist this year called Safehouse Nightmare which has you fighting headless enemies with various random environmental hazards. There are also special Halloween event mask drops.

Killing Floor has Holiday events every year where they change the enemy mobs to be more holiday themed.
