Apparently, from one of the podcasts I listen to, there is talk about a Borderlands sequel sometime in the future, because Gearbox Software has copyright/bought the license for the name of "Borderworlds". So what do you people think? Good news or Bad news? and what are you looking for in the next installment?

*ahem*...

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

Borderlands remains, to this day, one of the few games I've completed multiple times and got all (but one, effing DLC with it's effing massive tasks...) of the trophies for. This is because it hasn't stopped being awesome after about five completions. Damn I love this game...

EDIT - I just realised I should probably answer your actual post. I'm hoping for more of the corporation's areas. Everything in the main game is owned by Dahl, and Jakob's Cove is, well, Jakobs, but I wouldn't mind seeing the Atlus and Maliwan areas. Also, character creation would be all kinds of sexy.

bit soon, I doubt it will be that great, I also doubt the devs will release one when they only just finished a DLC for the bloody thing!

'Nuff said.

That game will be awesome. I'd pewrsonally like a more open world-ish level design, and more guns. Character creation would be nice.

And i hope this time they STAY cool. The intro was fine, but the whole game after that there was nearly no characterization or dialog or noteworthy NPC's or ANYTHING else other than shooting people in the face.

But maybe if this game sold good they will spent more money now and hire some voiceactors and a writer... (Yeah, RIGHT... hiring an WRITER bwahahaha)

Yeah and I wanna see more weapons, Flamethrowers, Sawn off shottys, and more vehicles with bigger enviroments, fallout style.

I'd welcome a sequel any day, so long as they keep the splitscreen in.

I reckon some more varied environments, and a couple of new character types would go down well. Basic aesthetic customisation beyond that of pallet-swapping would be cool too.

Dunno, do they plan on having workable multiplayer in the PC version? If you're going to sell a game based on unimaginative cheap gimmicks, at least make sure it works properly..

Considering that we probably won't see it until 2013 or so, this is the perfect time for them to start work on it.

Also, cool, I'm sold.

You know what I wanna see for the sequel?
The ability to create our own guns.
Guns guns guns.

If they do make it, i hope it has a better storyline, more variety in enemies, some more RPG elements.

good news, but please support the PC this time...and a few less bugs would be nice

there the 2 main reasons why i stopped playing even before i finished (well ok, the main reason was my save being corrupted for no reason)

Character creator and weapon customization. Borderlands was exactly these two steps away from being the perfect game.

And please, for the love of God, do not take the advice of people who say it needs a story. This game needs a story like I need a pair of pants made out of cheese. I can think of way more ways that could go wrong than right.

Fix the level scaling with monsters. Maybe more variety instead of palette swapping. And remove the level cap.

Oh and it looks like more DLC is coming

(PS3 trophies were announced first with the Jacobs Cove pack)

Also make it a little more expansive as far as the multiplayer goes. I think borderlands would make an excelent MMO. Or atleast somewhere between where they are now and what an MMO would be. That would probably just be Multiplayer that works without having to sacrifice a child to your router.

Yes the blood of the innocent makes the Borderlands Multiplayer work fine.
