Due to Steams recent sale, i picked up Borderlands. A game that ever since release i just, missed. I wanted to play it for so long and Steam finally helped to end the wait for the game. I love it. Ive done 1 playthrough already and i want more. So this means Borderlands 2 has jumped right up the list of my most anticipated games.

So would anyone like to play some Borderlands? Or even anything else for that matter on Steam, my account name is theresevoirdog.

Lets play.

edit, im on PC btw.
Hey if you do the secret armory of general knoxx be sure to look up the armory glitch! Usually you have a little over 2 minutes to search through about 1,000 weapon creates, this glitch lets you pass by the timer activation, so you have unlimited time to browse through the MANY crates in there... wait, I will just post a video for you.

I was planning on preordering anyway, but this video basically had me smiling for the next three hours. :)
I've pre-ordered the Dluxe Vault Hunter edition, so I get all this [http://downloads.2kgames.com/2kgames/uploads/images/community/bl2_ce_small-15081-cropped.jpg] as well as the pre-ordering bonuses.

I'll admit, I'm hyped for Borderlands 2. :D

I've played it single play, and with friends; single play was certainly fun, but team play rocks hard. We're looking forward to Borderlands 2, count on that.

Will definately add you on Steam and looking forward to playing with you in the future! Also, I have pre-purchased Borderlands 2 so if you would like to play that in the future, I would be more than happy.

Huge Borderlands fan here, unfortunately I play it on my PS3.

I'm going to echo the previous sentiments here... get the DLC but avoid the Underdome, so brutal.

Hey what's wrong with playing Borderlands on the PS3?

Also, I have yet to download Underdome, is it that bad?

Sorry, wrong choice of words. Unfortunate in the sense that I can't play with the OP. Nothing wrong with the game on the PS3, pretty slick.

Underdome is just wave after wave of bad guys. Pretty repetitive and kind of hard after a while. Your kills don't give you any XP. The quest turns in are the only way to get some and each quest involves completing 3 arena matches which are (if I remember correctly) 10 rounds each. That's a lot of enemies to kill with nothing to show for it.

As much as I'd LOVE to be playing it, I can't as I'm out of the country. Woe is me! But luckily I'll be back by Saturday.

Ooooooh gotcha, I see what you mean now. I had a blast playing on my PS3, by myself....whatever.

I knew it was nothing more than a battle ground, but I didn't really know the finer details about all that. That's really stupid. Oh well, I might just get it anyways to get some trophies and some cleaning up in that regard, not that I'm a trophy whore or anything. >.>

I would play borderlands but I realized I don't want to play a mini-MMO that bores the utter shit out of me.

Yeah I got it too. So is it a good pc port? I haven't downloaded it due to the steam summer sale murdering my bandwith.
Having played both, I prefer the PC version, though that may just be because "pc fps > console fps". I can't see any technical or gameplay difference beyond controller vs. keyboard and mouse.
Well there's a couple things about the PC port that kinda suck:

1) Gamespy arcade for multiplayer: Nuff said.

2) Lack of bindable keys.

3) Driving controls are fucked until you get used to them.

Those are mostly nitpiccks, game is fun as hell. Unfortunately, I got affected by a gamebreaking bug that Gearbox flat out said they won't fix because it's "not an issue" so my 2nd playthrough is stuck at...

Meet Tannis in the Crimson Fastness, she isn't there. Evidently I grouped with some random who had modded his game and created this bug and it's impossible to fix unless someone else hosts a game while we're on that exact quest so it will be fixed

Also for reference: this is the stuff that's still in, as pointed out, it was a lot worse before.
Download willow tree and try resetting the mission?

We actually have a group here on The Escapist for Borderlands fans right here [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/Escapist-Borderlands]. I have it on 360 and though I haven't played in awhile I will boot it up and play with anyone for old time's sake.

Borderlands definitely belongs in my top 10 favourite games, maybe top 5. I enjoyed it immsensly and the DLC is some of the best ever. General Knoxx's Secret Armoury is my second favourite DLC, next to The Shivering Isles from The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

I hope you enjoy your Borderlands playthrough :D

I have Borderlands 2 on pre-order (Xbox)

Moxxi's is worth installing, it's actually broken down into two challenges, the Small Tournament and the Big Tournament. There both balanced as a team thing, but the Small Tournament is the "Story" one with a reasonable 5 rounds (of 5 waves) per Colosseum, and while it doesn't grant EXP directly, the quest flat out gives you a skill point in both playthroughs. Still a bit sloggly to get through solo but, there's nothing stopping you from running through it with a high level friend (or being said friend for someone else)

Also it adds an item bank so you can hang onto that awesome but somewhat impractical rocket shotgun. And really.

I picked it up too along with about 20 other games, it was fun for the 1/2 hour or so I've played so far. I like that little robot, reminds me of wall-e

You are kidding me right? It uses fucking gamespy,. What is this? 1998? At least they patched it to the point where it was functional. The multiplayer quite simply didn't work for about a month after release.
They didn't allow us to disable microphones without editing the files manually, until at least 2 batches of DLC in. I know it is fixed now, but that sort of shit shouldn't be acceptable at launch.
The mouse smoothing is still a pain in the ass making it feel like you are operating a gun in space since it floats for 15 degrees more after you stop moving the mouse.

It is in no way shape or form an excellent port. It might be one of the ports I bring up when I want to point out horrible examples of ports.

It went from a travesty to functional. So now it is a functional port.
There is a reason they made a loveletter to PC gamers with Borderlands 2. They knew they fucked up the PC port. More or less everything on that list is stuff they didn't do proberly in the first one.
I'm totally with you on plenty of stuff being broken and other stuff being annoying to have to manually fix, especially when the game first came out, but it wasn't completely unplayable by any means. While you were editing the config files to disable the mic, you could've disabled mouse smoothing while you were at it, which I did on launch day and had no problems with afterward, and I played the game online from start to finish that week with a group of four, beginning on day one.

It was far from perfect, and all the things they're talking about fixing in the sequel are things they should've done right the first time around, but there's a long list of much worse ports than Borderlands. Choose one at random from the current generation, and there's about a 50% chance that it'll be at least as bad, in my experience, sadly.
