I had just finished beating Elizabeth Greene in Prototype and i found the boss battle was infuriatingly diffucult cause you can barely get near her before she starts shooting at and blowing you away with debris and i was incredibly frustrated cause i had to go through with the whole entire bloodtox pump b.s. and then all the sudden i have to deal with that shit. and on top of that you've got infected everywhere including hunters and evolved! but then i noticed the three weakspots after beating her down for the first time and then i realized all i had to do was target those with a tank or tentacle arm. And when you find her you just beat her down and eat her(mind out of the gutter) like it was nothing. Fuuuuuuuuuu and all that stuff.

Anyways what is the most brutaully diffucult boss you've fought until you found out how simple and easy it was?

#1 Megaman Juno (Megaman: legends)(aka Megaman: the best one) Reason: he was hard enough that i thought he would break the trend of two stage final bosses so i unloaded everything on him... This was a mistake...

#2 Hades (Kingdom Hearts) Reason: he has more health then fits on the bar (so i thought i couldn't damage him which confused and infuriated me)

#3 Colossus XVI (Shadow of the Colossus) Reason: anyone that tells you they did it without looking up the strategy is lying

#4 Fortinbras (Onimusha: Warlords) Reason: kills the hell out of you the first few times. but had a very predictable pattern.

#5 Dran (Dark Cloud 2) Reason: I was 9, and it was the first game i ever played

Gygax in Earthbound. Enjoy wasting hours trying to beat him.

"I'll look at his stats! He can't have that much HP!"

"WHAT THE EVER LOVING GOD IS HE DOING WITH THAT HIGH OF HP COUNT!?"

Then you look up the tactics for the fight and find out that the ability one of your characters has that has been precisely useless for the ENTIRE game will beat him in 7 rounds with minor damage to your party.

Bite me.

Not a boss fight, but a part in Dead Space 1, you have to fight 2 Guardians, which unless you know where to shoot them (I didn't) you can waste all your ammo and still not kill them. You can't melee them either, you get too close and you get your head chopped off. If you shoot all of their tentacles (I think 6-8) off they die.

Barthandelus was pretty annoying. Then I realized I was being too defensive, like in Dragon Quest.

That zombie boss in FF8 that you could kill in one hit if you used a pheonix down. FF8 is one of the few games that actually gave their bosses weaknesses like that. Also in eight, I made the final boss much more difficulty when I assumed she only had two forms and sacrificed Zell using kamikaze. I still beat her, but only because of a lucky limit break from Squall, and managed to finish her off with Rinoa.

The Frost titan in Kingdom Hearts is unbeatable unless you think to use block. I, having always relied upon dodge roll, was at a complete loss until I figured that out.

DethI from Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening. I spent hours trying to beat that bastard by jumping over his arms and hitting him in the eyes with arrows to finally beat him once. And later I learn that you can kill him in one hit with the boomerang.

The last boss of Infamous. His attacks hit as hard as hell and a single slip up is the end of you 50% of the time but luckily when you find out how to dodge everything it becomes easier (although still hard).

Emerald Weapon FF7: All lucky sevens on one character, W-summon KotR and then mime it twice, he goes down after attacking you once, if that.

Ruby Weapon FF7: Use Dazers, he never moves if you keep up on him.

I have little problem figuring tough bosses out, but ...

Assassin's Creed 1 had a bunch of bosses that are mildly challenging .. unless you just use throwing knife spam.
I was like "are you serious?!"

More recently, Witcher 2 (on Hard of course. Will be doing Insane runs later) .. I get asked "how do you fight this guy, he's resistant to spells and blocks everything"
"Err, I play a character that throws a bunch of stuff. I just spammed everything from spells to knives to bombs"

The last Boss of Shadow of the Colossus. I honestly spent about 2 hours just trying to take him down. Then I found out you had to shoot another weak spot from his hand, instead of doing it the way I was, which was leaping hap-hazardly from his hand to his chest. I'm an Idiot.

I was having some fun in the end of dead space 2

with the whole battle in the center of the mind thing. I wasn't in trouble, mind you, just that it was taking ridiculous amounts of medpacs, and nicole would keep catching up to me. Suddenly, something occured to me: the Hacker contact beam that I had been faithfully upgrading and collecting ammo for over the last half of the game could not only take down both necro-nicole and the pulsating uncovered marker thingy in a shot or two, the alt-fire gave me a nice radius of safety from those smokey little black demon mooks. Also, stasis works on necro-nicole! 8-9 contact beam shots later, I was watching the fake credits

'Ere, I got one. Final Fantasy X, Seymour's last fight.

So, I get this guy...who has been a TOTAL ***** to deal with every time I see him, and now he's a soul in Sin claiming - laughably - that he's going to take over Sin from the inside. RIGHT! SURE! Idiot... And then, of course, I have to remember that this guy is STILL a ***** of a problem...until I see that most of his attacks will come from the Wheel Of Elements! Four of them!

Yup, you guessed it. Without wasting time, I summon an Aeon and said beastie is nigh-invulnerable to him THE ENTIRE MATCH. Hell, I even hear that using an Aeon of the opposing element kills him quicker! And does he even do much to stop this whole shebang? Nope! What an idiot...

Just today, I was in Borderlands Playthrough 2 with my brother and we beat the Roid-Rage Maniac on our first try.

In Playthrough 1 it tooks us like 8 tries to beat him, and we almost died.

/confused as hell

It was so weird after that...

Safer sephiroth from ff7.

At first, i tried many times to best him, but i could seem to pull it off.
I eventually had to leave and do the chocobo sidequest so i could obtain the knights of the nine materia. it took at least 4-5 hours. turns out, you can just continually cast slow.

Let's not forget the insane timer.
There's no timer in InFamous. Are you think of Prototype? That boss battle is hard but doesn't fit into this thread because he never gets any easier when you learn something... hes just fucking impossible all the time. (seriously the only way I beat that guy is to spam the strongest attacking in the game and begin a war of attrition until one of us died.)
