De Rol Le from Phantasy Star Online. Oh man that guy gave me so much trouble but the soundtrack and pacing of the fight were just amazing. Listen to that music!

Phantasy Star Online 2 tried to do it again, and while the mechanics are way better, it just didn't feel the same. Damn if I can remember the bosses name though, the naming in PSO2 is off the damn wall.

EDIT: Found him, Bal Rodos and you fight him in a massive infinite whirlpool.

Pretty pulse pounding but it's just not the same. Also, he was a HELL of a lot easier than De Rol Le but I think that's because you're so much more mobile in PSO2 compared to PSO, along with a bigger raft, turrets and the ability to lock him down for several seconds at a time with a harpoon.

Favorites are hard for me. I've played alot of games. Some of my picks were already mentioned. So, I'm just gonna mention a bunch of good ones that I liked...in spoiler-vision!

Hello, Nyx.

I'm really good at Persona. Because I play the hell out of games, I get to some good damn resources. Tartarus' basement allowed me to really prepare for the goddess of the night. So, when the appointed time came, I owned the remainder of Strega, and then proceeded to find Ryoji, nay the earthly avatar of Nyx. The moon is full, the stage is set, and the really good battle music with the Velvet Room homage is playing. I bring the avatar to the Death arcana where the true battle begins and I...completely own him with Armageddon. And then, naturally, I complete the game.

But hey, I'm also a good sport. I go back and do it again, this time without utterly destroying him instantly. I fight through the battle, choose my strategy carefully, and of course - because I have powerful people and alot of items - I beat him. And of course, the ending is both epic and then strangely bittersweet, taking on and sealing a god with your friends - even the dead one - helping you. And of course, it helps that I own FES, so there's actually MORE to do.

"I will tell you the truth: You are all going to DIE."

So, you enter the Shadow World, meet this goofball that seems to be an empty suit of a weird bear mascot, and you rescue people from their Shadows cool. Later on, you find this one Shadow that...isn't very strong, but it has a tactical power allowing it to then anticipate moves and lash out strongly. The goofball releases some sort of hitherto-unknown power to stop the Shadow and he, comically, now looks deflated. Everything seems okay and fine, and then something the girl you rescues sets him off and suddenly...we have a problem.

Teddie, the SHADOW, has a fucking Shadow, and he is a doozy! Serious and steady inhuman voice, big yellow-glowing eyes, apparently great intelligence, and darkly amoral - a killer with a degree in philosophy. Battle starts. You have this dark hole in the floor and climbing out of it is the monstrous Shadow Teddie, a demon thinly-disguised as cartoon character with claws and power superior to Rise, whom you had been fighting the Shadow of earlier. In fact, he's superior to ALL of the other Shadows. He's a flipping monster and a good Wake-Up Call Boss.

Minion, Dark Tooth, and Tower Tooth

Pretty much any Twisted Metal game aside from the third one is good, great even, but out of them all, I liked the fights with these three.

Minion is, of course, that memorable first final boss: A fucking demon tank. I think his best incarnation was actually his first. You have this six-wheeled armored hellion appear after only a few seconds of warning, right along with that doomed-sounding rooftop arena music. There's this inhuman roar-sound that you can't tell whether it's the driver or the vehicle, and then Minion comes right at you...with everything! He basically has every weapon the drivers have in the game firing at once. Now granted, he's a regular staple in the series and he's done decently, but I never forget that roar... Playing as him is fun too.

Dark Tooth was uhh...a bit confusing when I first saw the message for the final battle in Twisted Metal 2, and then...WTF IS THAT?! A giant evil ice cream truck with specialized weapons!! I like Sweet Tooth. He's a cool kind of evil clown, maybe on the Joker's level, but this? A giant ice cream truck chases after you, fighting like hell, and then when it's over...you fight the giant flaming head that was on top! The giant head is moving on its own and attacking! He was also back in Head-On, whiiich brings is to...

The NEXT WTF moment, a giant tower of a Sweet Tooth monument that is more crazy than even the Sweet Tooth ice cream mech in Black. What's more, it's playable! Hargle fargle why!

Add to that just most ship battles in Skies of Arcadia. They're just so neat...

For a game that has a fairly light tone (despite, you know, the murders) that particular character is pretty damn disturbing. In terms of the design it's definitely one of my favourites of the series.

I loved killing Sephiroph and he was a chump. Of course after dropping Ruby and Emerald he is beyond a joke.

All the bosses in Metal Gear Rising. Senator Armstrong was my favourite.

All the bosses in Bayonetta.

Grigori in Dragon's Dogma.

The Penetrator, Flamelurker, Old King Allant and Tower Knight in Demon's Souls.

Bosses in the Shin Megami Tensei games (particularly Hari-Hara in Digital Devil Saga 1).

Dark Aeons in Final Fantasy X.

The boss battles in the Super Mario Galaxy games.

Artorias in the Dark Souls expansion.

Bosses in the Tales Of series of games.

Most bosses in Final Fantasy games.

Most bosses in the Kingdom Hearts series (Fuck Ursula though).

The bosses in Castlevania Lords of Shadow (not the colossus ones though, they were just crappy platforming segments).

The bosses in the God of War series.

The two Argus class robots in the third chapter of Vanquish.

Colossus 13 in Shadow of the Colossus.

Rex vs Ray in Metal Gear Solid 4.

ornstein and smough was really good, don't know how many tries it took but it felt great afterwards.

the tower knight is also one that I love fighting, every time I make a new character in demons souls the thing I look forward to the most is beating him.

the man eaters were really fun going against with a magic build as well, just harden yourself and soul ray away.

also no idea if this really counts as a boss battle but I loved fighting the deviljho in monster hunter 3.
