Star Ocean: Second Story

Indalecio

This guy has two ways to be fought with the limiter on and the limiter off. However When you are someone like myself and just levels to compete with the enemies, you find that you can stun lock and quickly kill everyone in the game. THEN YOU MEET HIM!!!

First off even with his limiter ON you have to be something to the tune of level 90-100 something. The boss just BEFORE him on the FINAL level only requires you to be LVL 60. The gulf in levels is INSANE.

He starts as a single form that is fairly easy to beat. Just stunlock the crap out of him and your good to go. BUT THEN. he transforms into a second form. The ONLY way for a melee hero to even touch him is to find a pair of bunny shoes that make you move insanely fast. And those boots are an OPTIONAL sidequest item never mentioned in the game!! His second form also casts spells FASTER than most any caster you have in your party. And the damage they do is absolutely DREADFUL. He is known for wiping entire parties in an instant. If you want to beat this jackass you better be ready for a SERIOUS grindfest.

Ohh and though you can get a lot of characters you better have the right ones. Or your ass is grass.

I was cruising along in Guitar Hero 3 back in the day and was pretty consistent on Expert. I could manage "One" and "Number of the Beast" after just a little practice. Then I tried this:
Screw that.

I remember that guy the first time I fought him. I also remember the second time, in which I had done a ridiculous level of grinding and so was able to blast him with Holy and Flare.
Fun fact, did you know that on the 2nd occasion you can throw 2 Phoenix Downs at him to win instantly? He's a zombie the 2nd time... cure hurts him :p

Any of the Dark Aeons on Final Fantasy 10.

Horrible bastards. Encountering one of them was synonymous with me turning off the game and forgetting about it for a few months.
I agree, they're just not fair - but you can exploit something in particular :) Summon Yojimbo, pay him to use his strongest attack (I forget the name, Zanmoto or something). Reload if he doesn't use it cus he will likely only get 1 attack before he gets torn to shreds... but if he succeeds he will insta-kill them.

Ironically enough, the only Dark Aeon I couldn't beat was Dark Yojimbo simply because you had to kill him like 6 times in a row. I'm just not lucky enough to pull off Zanmoto that often 0.0

So the lesson here is;

Aeons < Dark Aeons < Yojimbo < Dark Yojimbo
I knew that it was a zombie in the second fight but I'm not sure if I knew about the Phoenix Wright trick (though I probably should have) it's been years since I fought it so I can't remember.

I will kill you with all my hopes and regrets!

I've not played Final Fantasy X since.
Same I HATED that boss did not do enough lvling and so I was screwed I tried taking him on from a distance because he wouldn't attack as hard then he teleported next to me and did that fucking poison breath that kills my entire party and I lose fucking ass hole.

Another boss that I was like nope no more was a character in DBZ budokai tenkaichi 2 that one that is a giant bug, any way can't hurt him except from a distance and he will get in your face and go NOPE and kill you.

I can't play inFAMOUS 2 as evil because of the Boss Fight/ Ending

Sucker Puch have made me good, I can't be evil no more!
I almost actually used this game as an example, but only because of having to kill Zeke at the end. I had grown so attached to him, and I was cool with destroying the world and all, but damn, not my friends too. I was hoping he'd be a cool minion or something.

Boss of the Fire Forest in Jade Cocoon.

Never did it. *Sigh*

In the growing trend of Dark Souls Bosses...
Four Kings on NG+ - FUCK YOU. VERY FUCK YOU.
Demon Firesage and his explosion-spam
THOSE TWO FUCKING ARCHERS in Anor Londo. You know which ones. I DON'T CARE THAT THEY'RE NORMAL ENEMIES, THAT SHIT IS PLAIN GOD LEVEL BULLSHIT.

And now a nice cup of tea and... relax.

Yes 4k on NG+ was a nightmare lol. i ended up doing it with a suped up captain america shield lol before the nerf though.

And Greater Magic Shield

It always makes me chuckle with the archers in anor londo because i actually never had much of an issue with them lol. I died the first try, then got them the second, and never had an issue after... yet my housemate was continually punished by them forever and a day lol

Probably the true Conqueror from Last Remnant. Game was frustrating enough as it was, but then you had a boss who would basically spam ultimate crazy uber moves while your teams often just randomly lost the ability to heal.
That one I genuinely said: screw this.

Also the ancient rock wraith from Dragon Age 2 on Nightmare and community-made Nightmare+
Might have been easier with a fully ranged party, but I only had one ranged mage when I fought it the first time. I refused to turn the difficulty down, spent an entire night failing and eventually beat it by kiting it around for ages.

The family of Deathclaws from Fallout: New Vegas. From the baby to the mother to the overpowered Alpha Deathclaw. Just can't stand them and you can't out run them cause the player is too damn slow.

Sweet Tooth's Carnival of Carnage in the new Twisted Metal is quite a challenge, it's impossible not to feel satisfied after you defeat it.

One that actually made me angry? Shao Kahn in Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks. I had to watch a walkthrough on YouTube just to find an effective strategy to beat him. GRRRR THAT STUPID SHOULDER CHARGE

Easily the Four Kings, from Dark Souls.

Pretty much every other boss in that game was so well designed. Whenever I died, I felt like I could do better, I just hadn't been good enough on my last attempt. The four kings though... they were different. I know some people had no issue with them, but the way I built my character made them a nightmare.

In addition to making me nauseous as all hell while fighting them (the abyss was cool, but the eye-fuckery it caused was horrible), I never felt like I could do better, or change my strategy at all. I was limited to one single way of fighting them, and could only win if they chose not to screw me over with a ridiculous chain of abilities.

I love Dark Souls, but I sincerely hope DS2 does not have a boss similar to those assholes.
Yep, same here. Out of both Demon's and Dark Souls, the Four Kings fight is the one I always get dreary in anticipation for. The fact that the fight pretty much forces you to DPS for your life means that those characters who don't specialize in attacking fast are pretty much gonna have a miserable time. Plus I hate feeling rushed.

Not even the Maneater from DeS or the Bell Gargoyles brought out the second foe that fast.
