Hey look it's the extra credits guys! @Daniel_Floyd, etc And Red5.
Also, it's a good look at the gaming industry bodies that don't agree with the ESA position. Well worth a visit.

Hear hear! There's also a petition for you to sign if you weren't going to E3 to begin with:
http://www.change.org/petitions/stop-the-esa-petition-and-boycott-e3#

Might the Escapist be joining this? I hope so, personally.

I've signed this already and happened to be searching to see if anyone had covered this in a thread yet! Anyone else who reads this thread should sign as well.

Here's hoping The Escapist is prepared to boycott E3 as well. It should earn them back some browny points with readers after that whole site redesign thing that went down.

Seems like the best way to get their support.
Boycotts are powerful, and we will show that we are powerful.

The Escapist staff has made it appear that they oppose SOPA.

Put your your money where your mouth is, literally. Pay no money towards anyone who supports SOPA.

Especially the ESA.

Hmmmm, ill sign it I guess.

But i'll be waiting for the full results, recent gaming boycotts have been less than impressive of late and theres far too much money floating around e3 for people to miss out. Lets just hope common sense prevails this time round.

Yeah, I totally agree with you. I really hope that this is the one boycott that people stick to.

Well, there is more at stake here than usual. Usually boycotts are against shady business decisions or poor design choices. This is against censoring the internet. It's more of a branch of the general protest against SOPA than a standalone boycott, so maybe there's a chance this'll work.

Ehh, I actually look forward to E3 and I doubt that boycotting this will really put a huge dent in it, but what the hell.

Sure, I'll sign. But don't expect me to not watch the trailers.

I'm not sure I should sign this. Not because I support SOPA but because lots of people are going to E3 and I don't want to be part of something that ruins there fun.

Why? You think boycotting E3 will make a difference? lol. Thats so funny. SOPA will not be passed. Look at it as a warning. Piracy does cause issues with companies, how would you feel if you created something and people didnt pay you for it? But SOPA is a sledgehammer to crack a peanut.....that law was never gonna be passed. Especially regarding international law, their no way that SOPA could work with out banning all links outside of USA. An even then all forms of media and entertainment would lose revenue. The internet is like China....yes it can make your goods real cheap, but dont be surprised when the factory makes pirate versions of your goods as well. I guess its about limiting the negatives while increasing the positives and with out becoming North Korea, I dont know how control of the internet for everyone will happen.

Not your personal army

But oddly enough i still signed as sopa sickens me to my core.

I hate the fact that a law passed in America can impact the world so greatly... way to much power and corperate greed involved imho for people just to let this bullshit to pass.

Just signed. Seeing as how i live in Australia and never travel overseas I wont be missing out on anything by not going to E3, but i will be damned if I do nothing to stop or at least hinder this blatent violation of everything the internet stands for.

Here's hoping that this movement picks up enough steam to kill any notion to anyone that SOPA, PIPA or anything else like it, IS NOT and NEVER WILL BE the right way to go about stopping piracy. Seriously, is America becoming the next nazi Germany?
