Boycott E3

Hey everyone, I just watched Extra Credits new video and they have a very creative solution to get the ESA to change their stance from in favor of SOPA to against it. We need to boycott E3. for more information, watch the video over at extra-credits.net. Let's stand together AS A COMMUNITY to have our voice heard.

This is quite a unique approach to fighting SOPA. Whereas other companies have tried to fight SOPA at its legislative source, these guys have taken the approach to make sure the rest of the game industry stand against it, in which case the ESA stubbornly stood on SOPA's side.

If you notice, though, the bigger point of this is to just spread the word however you can. And while it seems a bit preachy by EC's standards, it's certainly something worth talking about.

When I saw, "Boycott E3" all I could think of was that, yes I would. I want to go and boycott it not only because of SOPA, but because gamers (you now, regular people that aren't journalists) can't even go. I don't agree with that. It's like segregation within a group.

It's like a group of nerds getting together and playing D&D. The only snag is that you have to be an elite nerd to play. I never got it.

Don't they let general public in near the end of it? Maybe they've changed that now but I could of sworn they used to. Maybe I'm thinking of that other convention that was supposed to be better than E3.

The whole point of this is to tell all the journalists to boycott E3, because they'd be more reluctant to just go by press releases. So for instance, let's have The Escapist see this thread and respond to it.

Yes, cut off the ESA and let the organisation starve. They may think twice when faced with the prospect of a half empty E3 that gets barely any media coverage.

I agree that I would like to see the escapist boycott e3. Any chance someone could setup a form letter or petition for us to sign to let the escapist know of our general support of the idea?
