So they let out a proven terrorist and then later debated it! Wow that's some democratic process, kind of like raping someone then asking for consent! As to the Americans making a statement about terrorism. Perhaps they should have thought about that when they were freeing IRA members left right and centre during the Peace talks in Ireland. I know they didn't do it directly but it was the Americans who helped and made several demands.

In other news Boycotts don't work, economic sanctions work, soon we will have the streets of Glasgow packed with starving orphans as the SNP steal all the UN food aid and Alex Salmon builds a place filled with gold furniture and a giant pair of arms grasping a can of Iron Brew before making the "Mother of all Stotties!"(apologies to my neighbours to the north for the spelling, Ive only heard the word spoken.

There is only one thing for it the Americans are after your Oil, expect claims about Bag pipes of mass destruction and the rounding up of those in kilts for a spell in Guantanamo Bay!

...Are we thinking of the same country? When I go to stay with my dad, just outside Glasgow we can't go up to the precinct after 4pm, just incase we get stabbed.
Well, I never lived there, but whenever I came to visit, I loved it.
However, it should be mentioned that I stayed mostly in the rural areas. I don't really know about the cities in Scotland. Except for Edinburgh.
Ah, Edinburgh is to Scotland what Portal and Silent Hill 2 are to Yahtzee - i.e. the bit that you have to look at to remind yourself it's not all shit. Edinburgh is beautiful.
It's okay - its just one massive hill!!!! Glasgow isn't all bad ....... promise!!

Most Scots opposed the verditct aswell, they shouldn't suffer due to a poor decision they had no say in.

Bit of a tangent, but it's hard to take any of these:

* acebutolol
* bisoprolol
* esmolol
* propranolol
* atenolol
* labetalol
* carvedilol
* metoprolol
* nebivolol

seriously when they're all laughing out loud.

Funny, because my ex said the exact same thing about numerous parts of England. It's the same in any country.

Anyway, speaking as an American, I couldn't really care less than I do about his release. Our justice system will sentence life for evading taxes, but let a child molester go free on good behavior. We're ass backwards and any American who disagrees is nuts. Just like others have said, where's the boycott for China with all the mess they do?

Glasgow's not all bad...but then again, even Hitler had a wife and a pet that didn't detest him.

Lol, I'm speaking as a Northern Irish person, so I'm very up to speed on countries being shit =] We wrote the book on ass backwards, or at least several very bulky chapters namely involving NO ONE being willing to give you car insurance 'cos they're convinced we're all trying to blow each other up...still.

That gave me a chuckle. The joys of America butting in on shit that has nothing to do with them.

Anyway, I'd never boycott Scotland, it's far too awesome.
Thank you kind sir. Our country is amazing, what with its sexy accents.

Let's remember this is the country that had to rename French Fries as Freedom Fries because of their boycott of France for not following them mindlessly in to an illegal war.

As much as I love blaming Gordon Brown it was actually not his fault this time, it was some minister for something or other in Scotland, I believe Gordon Brown actually disagreed with the decision and was appalled that the people welcoming Abdel Baset al-Megrahi home were waving Scottish flags.
Oh my god, how WRONG you are. The foundations for this release were laid by Tony Blair when he met Ghadaffi to secure the BP oil rights in Libya. The Scottish Justice Minister who released him was effectively tying up the loose ends of the deal brokered and started by the Labour government whilst under Blair's leadership. So Brown coming out against it is just pathetic since it was his party that effectively started the whole thing.

As Frankie Boyle said "It's like Wayne Rooney boycotting the large hadron colider".

That's not entirely true. It was an American plane.

With the extreme amount of logic in this, they should also boycott Canada, as the first Prime Minister of Canada was born in Glasgow, Scotland. They also might want to boycott anything which went through the Panama Canal, as a fair bit of Scottish labour went into it, I believe.
*edit*
Did anyone actually read the link? I'm pretty sure it's a joke. Also, the address is "co.uk" and it says "we americans" so I'm pretty friggin sure it's some funny Brits mocking the Obama=Hitler people.
