That time of year again. Holiday 2014! Aside from being stuffed and having a sugar buzz that will last for a year, Good gaming holiday for me. I hope the same for y'all.

1) What gaming stuff (games/hardware) did you get?
2) Are you favoring any one thing yet. If so, what?

Me? Due to Sony just now working at my house again, I am not favoring anything yet. But:

PS4: Destiny
Far Cry 4
Dragon Age Inquisition
COD: Advanced Warfare

Wii U:
Smash Brothers
Wii U Shape 2013
Wii U Fit bundle.

I also got PS TV in the hopes of playing the PS4 in another room. I'm already told fat chance, but it's cheap.

How about you?

hmm... I envy being younger again haha..

I invited my grandmother for dinner, helped her cook and bought the groceries seeing as all my uncles etc have their own families to tend to and my mother was with her s.o and I really didnt wish for her to be alone on this evening.

I got my cat a new scrathing post and a few cat toys...seeing as the little bugger is already bigger then a full grown normal cat (hes a maine coon :p). Solely thinking about the thought that hes still going to grow for 2 years makes me wonder when I have to start letting him hunt sheep or something haha.

For my mother I let her stop worrying about the debt she owes me (wont go into detail but it was...enough haha...).

Then for my gf with the last bit of cash I had I bought an engagement necklace :). Shes completely allergic to any form of Nickel, so it took me a bit to find a nice Whitegold necklace that had some Amethysts (her fav color is purple) inside of it.

What I got....ehh, well... my gf got me a nice pillow, and a hat. Seeing as the top is starting to go somewhat I decided to shave it all off. Id rather burn in hell for eternity then do a combover haha^^. Thats actually..all I got for Christmas then hehe :)

As is the spirit of christmas, its not the amount or cost, but the feeling involved. So that was my Christmas.

(Im excluding cuddles from my cat..haha :D)

Edit: I see that I mentioned 0 things to do with gaming ehh....I got myself a steam trading card...to make a badge and go up a level..haha :D does that count?

Glad you had a good Christmas. :)
Got a Wii U and it's been a long time since I got a console for Christmas so I felt like I was about 8 years old again when I opened it. Been playing Mario games and eating chocolate, which is just fine by me. Also got my first game on the 3DS which means I can actually use it after having it for about 8 months haha.

Parents got me a copy of Persona Q, and that's been pretty damn cool. I like the Etrian Odyssey play style, as well as Persona, so having both at the same time is neat. I like some of the additions and changes made when compared to E.O.4 as well. Lots of little things that really improved the formula

I'm always the odd man out in these threads, everybody's parents buy half a store for their kids.
Anyway, my girlfriend (thank you gorgeous) got me L.A. Noire for the PS3.

Being 34 I don't expect much for the Holidays except family, which is enough for me, that is why this year's haul was all that more surprising for me:
Got a nice little Laptop from the parents. Not one thats great for gaming or anything but nice for various little projects... definitely wasn't expecting it.
Since we're a gaming family, our overall haul went like this:

PS4 - GTA V, Dragon Age Inquisition, Evil Within, Shadows of Mordor, and Sleeping Dogs
PS3 - Borderlands Pre-Sequel and WWE 2k15
XB1 - Halo: Master Chief Collection

Along with some vanity items for the joint WoW accounts my wife and I have (Armored Bloodwing and Lil' Ragnaros if you're interested)

Not a bad haul at all plus the laptop came with a $25 gift card that we applied to our XBOX Live account and my wife got herself a PSN $20 card.

Yeah we're a lucky family to have all that nice stuff come our way. I can't complain even if we're fairly poor the rest of the year.

In a shocking turn of events, the Origin store, of all places, is being favourable to the CAD currency. Combine that with a 30% off discount and a 20% promo code, I got Dragon Age: Inquisition for 33$ CAD (~28.40$ USD).

A recently released, popular EA game on PC is the last thing I expected to get at 52% off, so I'm pretty damn pleased.

I just paid $40 US for PS4 version!

My nephew just got a cheap HP laptop, celeron processor and Intel HD graphics and he can still play things like Far Cry 2 from Steam at decent settings. I'm betting, at a minimum, you're likely to be able to do the same.
PS4 - GTA V, Dragon Age Inquisition, Evil Within, Shadows of Mordor, and Sleeping Dogs
Close one for me. I chose Inquisition even though Mordor is supposed to be a hoot. Lucky you have both!

XB1 - Halo: Master Chief Collection
Enough to tempt me to buy and XB1.

LOL, I am a Dad! And I can use any help I can get! The kids got me Dynasty and Far Cry 4 for PS4. Still, congrats on the job. Harder these days for young uns to get work than it should be.

(The boy just finished 16 weeks HVAC class. Finished school Wednesday, had a new gig pays OK with benefits Friday!)

Can I share about tabletop games?

I got Darkstrider for my WH40k army and went to a new model shop in town and ordered a British Army 1000 point starter set for Bolt Action with Christmas cash. I've never played the latter game but I feel as though a Sherman and a Firefly will last about 3 minutes against my friend's Tiger and Panzer IV.

Do board games count too? Because my Aunt and Uncle got me a Discworld Ankh-Morpork board game. They had know idea that I recently started reading them (just finished book 12) but they have great taste in board games and this one's great.
This is a bit sweary so I've spoilered it so as not to ruin the general niceness of things:
I find That the more times you say "Oh you fucker" or "You cheeky ****" in a board/tabletop game, the more fun it is.

My little brother got Smash (the older one) for the Wii, so we've had a few laughs on that. I only play as Link. Even though he always disappoints me.

I normally find Christmas to be awkward, and my (20 year old) brother threw enough ***** fits to make that so again this year. The prick. But then again, what is Christmas about if not a time for tenseness between visiting family members?

Side note: It isn't gaming related but my Parents bought me a watch (which was about £160 off, how bloody fantastic is that? I don't know if I am happier with the watch or the fact that it was £90 for a £250 watch) and I've never owned a really nice watch before. It's still nerdy though. It's a Hawker Hunter watch, in a vintage aviation style. Incidentally, the Hawker Hunter went out of service this year. I'm just really chuffed to bits with it and this is a bragging thread, after all.

I've been working nights to mornings for the past couple months. I'm a zombie. Got nothing for Christmas, but I have nothing to complain about.

I was borrowing a friend's PS4 and playing Dragon Age Inquisition, my friend's copy, and he calls me the other day...

"How do you like Inquisition?"
"It's freaking awesome! It's a huge game, this is gonna take a while to finish."
"So you like the PS4?"
"Yeah, it's a pretty decent machine."
"Keep it, I just bought another one for myself. Merry Christmas."

And on that note, it's off to work.

Sound's like you got something for Christmas, after all. A PS4 & Dragon Age: Inquisition. You're lucky, I got DA:I before the Christmas season came around, so I asked for something else: Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked and Super Smash Bros for 3DS. I also got the Cornetto Trilogy (Shawn of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and The World's End) on Blu-Ray, and I got some comics and manga as well. Superior Spiderman Team-Up: Superior Six (Or as I would like to call it "Superior Spiderman: You're A Frakking Monster"), Saga:Volume 2 (I've been getting into it as of recent), and Drifters Volume 4 (Imagine Lord of The Rings, only with historical figures like Nobunaga, Joan of Arc, Abe no Seimei, and (briefly mentioned) Hitler in it.)

I got....nothing game wise. Though I did figure out (finally) the issue with my router and why it wasn't letting me connect my 360 and ps3 to it (as well as our wireless printer and other laptop) so I guess I gave myself the present of getting everything hooked up to the router finally (after 4 months of dealing with it). Otherwise I got nothing of what I asked for (well technically I kind of did as I got a few on skype and facebook but not from family) which sucks because all I wanted was book recommendations.
One of my best friends got me a Palahniuk book but I'm going to take it back to the store and get a book I actually want and will read. I got 2 $10 gift cards to target that are going to go towards more books for me. My uncle made me a wooden storage box. Friend of the family got me a shirt that while I kind of like it, it's too small for me (I DESPISE getting clothing) and got my mum one that was too big and I wound up with custody of both cause my mum doesn't want the one that would fit her and is too small for me (personally I'd rather have neither but). And my grandma also gave me a shirt that actually fits and then some and is soft and comfy. My parents are helping me to pay for a new suspension system in my car so that's my holiday I don't celebrate gift as well as my birthday (that's coming up in a few weeks) gift.

Just once, I'd like my family to stop with the "you're too difficult to buy for so I bought you something that makes me happy in the hopes it makes you happy as well" ideology. Especially when I tell them explicitly what I want and still tell me I'm too difficult to buy for.(especially when I'm telling you I don't want you to buy me anything and instead just write down books you think I might enjoy that you really enjoyed).

And I made my dad some homemade dark chocolate dipped honeycomb because he loves honeycomb.

And I got sick so I stayed home with the dogs and got out of familial obligations while I tried to stop my body from trying to cough one of my lungs up.

As far as games go, my family is stuck in the "we still see you as a girl and girls don't play video or table top games" mindset so I'll never get video games, table top games, or systems for a birthday/holiday combo

I got kingdom hearts 2.5 and red dead redemption for my PS3 and, to make sure that I don't end up hogging the tv to play these games, My sister's got me a new brand spanking tv for me to put in my bedroom. along with books from the Malazan series.

In my family, we tend to splurge on each other, you see.

I got my one of my sister's a power rack for her exercises and some high-quality makeup and clothing for my other sister.

Everybody got exactly what they wanted.

I got Far Cry 4. Not as a gift, but because Ubisoft chose the appropriate date of Dec 24th to release it on Steam in the UK... and Steam decided it didnt want to accept my money for the remainder of the 24th.

As for actual gifts i got a couple of Marvel movies on BD, a mug with a mini-blender in it and a tiny little scarf that was probably intended for a small child.

The rest were either Amazon gift cards or money. And im rather short of things to do with either of those at the moment, the only things i would consider doing being buying Warframe Prime Access or preordering Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate.

oh you are a dad, my deepest sorry for you (not for you as a dad, but for you as a gamer :p), my brother is in the same position, since he has a family he doesnt have a lot of money to buy games, so i tend to buy the games he might have interest in and share my ps4 with him so he can play

This time I was my own Santa Clause I guess.

PS4 back from Sony
DA:I - PC
Far Cry 4 - PC
Ryse - PC ( Steam)

And some other budget steam titles, seems although there was a mega sale, I had already gotten what I wanted so it wasn't too much of a grab bag-a-thon.

This is not counting my PC parts and accessories.
