I got Smash Bros for 3DS and apparently i'm like the only person who is completely new to the series so i'm getting kinda stomped online. I'm getting there though, there's not much to learn. There's only two buttons after all.

I play mostly Robin because lol Fire Emblem and it turns out she's higher up the tier list than I expected, I sub Lucina for more Fire Emblem. I would be bitching about Chrom not making it in but you seen Robin's Final Smash? Chrom DID make it into the game and he's awesome.

I like Palutena, I might play her more. At first look I thought she would be some pussy keepaway character then a really good one just destroyed me, her Smashes do so much fuckin' damage and she has crazy mobility through her dashes being teleports on top of a legit teleport special

Very thoughtful of you. I try to get things the kids will like. Wii U Fit coming from Amazon tomorrow. Likely my daughter will use it more than me.

You might interest your brother in PC gaming. Very inexpensive. I get as many as a half dozen games at a time for $5ish at www.humblebundle.com. Steam keeps having sales.

The real trick for a parent is time. After 15 years, I'm nearly an empty nester now. Finally, some time to play. Did some Metro 2033 Last Light that was free with PS+ for PS3. Looks surprisingly good.

Played some Dragon Age Inquisition on PS4. Got complicated! I'll have to focus.

Hope you have a lot of fun over the holiday.

I got no games this year, besides the dozen or so I bought for myself during the Humble Store sale and Steam Sale. I went more with comic books and practical stuff. I guess you could consider my purchase of Dynasty Warriors: Gundam Reborn was a Christmas gift to myself,as I bought it Christmas Eve.

Well lucky you guys. I've hit the age where my parents will give me just money, shirts, chocolate or aftershave. I got a DVD and a CD from my girlfriend (Both Frank), and a weekend pass for Comic Con from my mum. I was aiming for some steam credit or a few comic books. I'd of settled for anything on my Amazon Wishlist, like a copy of 'It was War in the Trenches', 'The Sound of his Horn' or 'Voyage'.

But no, I got a load of useless crap I didn't ask for or want and money. T-Shirts that are prints of book first edition covers that are kinda nice, Clockwork Orange and Atlas Shrugged, which sounds nice until I say I've never read or plan to read Clockwork Orange and I have openly expressed a disgust for Atlas Shrugged to the person who brought it for me. Same person got me some Beckham shower stuff, which was nice, but also got me aftershave, which I have never and will never use, a shitty 'TV & Movie' card game and some chocolate which was nice. Girlfriends family got my a shit ton of chocolate, a less shit 'TV & Movie' card game, a scarf, socks (Which was nice), and a Mug.

So Christmas kinda sucked, I got stuff that is okay but not what I need/want. I'm probably going to spend some of the money on Steam Credit or something.

Regretfully i coudnt he took the ps4 for the holidays XD, he used to be a pc (gaming since 198X) but maintaining a pc here, with the salaries of my coutry + a family its hard, so he change to a ps4, and like you say he doesnt have a lot of time to play games due to the family so its not a big issue

Also when is cheaper get GTA5 on the ps4 its great or alien insola

The benefit of having no family to speak of means I get to spree and I always get what I want. I decided to entertain my inner Doctor and got the blu-ray boxed set containing every season of the show, as well as The Day of the Doctor and The Time of the Doctor.

Mmm...lemme see here...

-some seasonal food; Christmas sausage, some nice cheese, etc.
-a fuckton of chocolate
-a fuckton of alcohol
-some alcohol with chocolate in it (it's tasty enough to warrant it's own point)
-a Pez dispenser
-a can of silly string
-some Christmas money
-Socks
-Underwear

For gifts given, me and my girlfriend decided to buy a bunch of mason jars and load them up with as much home baking as we could manage to stuff into each one. Then we decorated the mason jars with ribbons/wrapping paper.

There were no sad faces this Christmas.

Gaming stuff specifically eh? I don't have too much to brag about but I'm still damn satisfied. In terms of gaming software, I got Ride to Hell: Road Redemption and Pokemon...Something Ruby (it's kind of funny that I'm still unsure if it's Alpha or Omega...I'm freaking playing it). I also got the Cards Against Humanity starter box!

There was also the money I ended up getting which I've sense turned into games/gaming stuff. For example, I got a hundred dollars in a card which I used (in conjunction with a number of traded in, trade-paperbacks at my favorite indie-shop) a new hard drive for my PS3 and a shit-ton of games:

Bloodrayne 2
Choro Q
Dead to Rights
Freedom Fighters
Krusty's Super Fun House
Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story
The Punisher (PS2)
Rune Factory Frontier
Sakura Wars ~So Long, My Love~
Super Paper Mario
Twisted Metal 4
Vagrant Story

Then there's the amazon gift card that I turned into games like...

Aliens: Colonial Marines Collector's Edition
Castlevania: Judgement
Dragon Ball Z: Legendary Super Warriors (complete)
Far Cry Collection
Sonic Generations
Sunday X Magazine: Taisen Action
Warhammer 40K: Space Marines

Damn, looking at it like this...I've done a lot of shopping in the last three freaking days...and I'm pretty sure I'm getting another amazon card in the mail...

Well, the only gaming-related thing I got for Christmas was both versions of the new Smash Bros... They were given to me by my aunt and uncle through the mail as they thought I has both a 3DS and Wii U... I decided not to tell them that I only have 3DS, but I was too busy ordering that free Smash Bros. soundtrack to tell them over Facebook, so I just called them the next day to tell them thanks for the games and stuff...

In other news, my favorite gaming-related moment of Christmas was seeing my mom's fiance open his present, which was one of those modern SEGA Genesis consoles with the games already pre-loaded into the system itself... Just seeing him play Sonic 1 and 2 was pretty cool since the last time I seen him play anything game-related was back when he bought himself one of those "plug-n-play" Atari/Namco game collection joysticks...

Yeah, as I wrote, as a family guy, time, more than money, becomes the issue. My advice to him? Find games that have the ability to save when you like rather than check points unless checkpoints are very, very often. As a Dad, I would never know how long I could play before being called upon.

My boy says the FPS element is a hoot. It is on my radar.

I am so jealous! I really like Season 8 Xmas special. Reminded me of Alan Moore's birthday gifting issue of Superman, "For the Man Who Has Everything"

Not much gaming-wise this year. 2 Games for my 3DS - Smash Bros which I'm terrible at and use Duck Hunt Trio, and Ocarina of Time 3d. I still have the old n64 version but it's my favourite game so I wanted to get the 3d version and try out the master quest version too.

Non-gaming: books, pyjamas, a couple of tops, a mini-tripod for my camera, and chocolate. Oh and socks, we all got socks right?
