I have been playing a lot of this game in the last week and I've been really enjoying it so far. It's probably the first Final Fantasy style game i liked since FFX. I really like being able to switch classes of my characters at any time.

How are you enjoying the game?
What do you think about the slight censorship they gave some costumes?
Did any of you make the mistake of buying the collectors edition for the ugly figure?

Yeah I'm really enjoying it. It reminds alot of the old school Final Fantasy games. The job system is cool (job systems are always cool) and the battle system with it's brave and default mechanics is also pretty darn fun. The story is well written as well.

I love it. It reminds me of all those Rpgs I loved on SNES and Playstation.
The musics are awesome and for me one of the best thing is the possibility to play with the Japanese voices.

I'd be enjoying it if it didn't release in America in the middle of February. Thanks Nintendo.

But seriously, it looks and sounds really awesome, it's good to hear more good things about it from others.

I'm enjoying it. The dialogue gets pretty tedious, but the battle system and job system are very fun. I also like how they give you the option to turn off exp, money and JP gain, which allows me to grind jobs without making the game too easy.
I've put ~25 hours in so far and I've just finished the section with the Sword/Shieldbearers civil war.

At least you're getting it at all. SMT 4 still doesn't have a release date in Europe.

I bought the collectors edition, but I knew the figure was shit from the moment I preordered it. The artbook, box and cards make it worth it for me, that....thing can stay in the box. I'm a little sad the character designer is leaving, since he worked on all the final fantasy tactic games from war of the lions up. Loving the game though, the dialogue is fantastic, the job system leaves me with lots to do; And I genuinely enjoy the character interactions. Surprised I don't hear anything from any of the big gaming news sites about this game and how it's doing. Seems to be scoring well everywhere though.

I've been looking at this game since a few days before its release and I want it so badly.
Those beautiful pre-rendered backgrounds, that soundtrack, the voice acting, a job system!
Every detail I've been shown make me lust for it more...

But I'll have to wait for a bit before getting it, maybe if I've got some spare cash after christmas.

My condolences. SMT IV is pretty alright, although it plays more like an M-rated hard pokemon game rather than any of the Persona games (the characters are kinda lame TBH).

OT: Bravely defeat sounds pretty cool, but I live in 'Murica, so we don't have it yet.

Yeah, that's basically what the mainline SMT games are.

I have found that bosses give you so much job exp that you barely need to grind jobs anyways. I have started maxing the first classes around chapter 5 with little effort.

Which costumes did they censor and how badly? If it was jsut turning the bikini costumes into spats like some Nintendo games have had done in the US then the joke's on them because spats are a fetish of mine. This is why I found the TERA censorship so laughable.

Anyways, luckily I got to enjoy the game uncensored and in its original Japanese form. I thought the combat was a bit slow paced but the job system was interesting. Character models left a lot to be desired but I found the environments to be pretty good looking for a 3DS game.

I never did finish it though. I ended up addicted to Atelier on my Vita around that time so it's been sitting in my backlog since. Maybe I should get around to that again.

Thank gosh, I was afraid this thread was going to be dishing out spoilers. Anyway, I got the game recently and am completely in love with it. I love turn based RPG's, particularly the Final Fantasy's of old, so Bravely Default just touches my heart. I haven't gotten far (still in chapter 1) but I love the gameplay, the neat touches they've given to the turn based RPG formula, the design, the characters; all group games need party chat's. Often my favourite things about stories, video games or not, are the interactions between the characters which this game dishes out plenty of (Ringabel is always hilarious).

The only problem is the timing of my purchase. I may have gotten my Christmas shopping out of the way but I've got so many other things to do such as writing my fanfiction that making this a pre-Christmas purchase was a bad decision. It's hard to pull myself away from it (though my brothers are more than happy to play on it when I'm not) and I really should have let someone buy if for me for Christmas... then I know what all of my Christmas day would be spent doing.

Alas, wonderful game so far and I hope it continues to impress me. Glad to hear many others are enjoying it as well.

I am having a blast! It harkens back to the older FF games which I loved!

The Brave/Default mechanic is an awesome feature!
I love the social aspect to this game, that everyone playing is trying to rebuild Norende and so the more people connect to each other, the more workers we all have rebuilding our home town!

The characters are very likeable and entertaining. :D

This game is the best thing that Square could have released on handheld!

Bikini into shorts, the female Vampire costumes got a small black bodysuit behind the belts. I don't really mind it, but some on the net are making a big deal out of it
