Breaking the 'fourth wall'

Heh...have you caught the Xmas, Hanukah or Birthday bits yet?

I don't remember hearing anything like that. However, I haven't played it for a while, but i don't think i ever played the game over christmas.

I think it breaks the fourth wall when in Half-Life2, you walk on an object and it kills you from weird physics freakouts.

i don't know if it's breaking the 4th wall or not but i remember in Monkey island 3 when guybrush mixed and drink and 'died' the undertaker who came to collect him said ' i didn't think you could die in a Lucasarts advdenture game'

Poke'mon breaks the fourth barrier when you enter the house with the production staff in it.

They all talk about their jobs and how you would'nt exist without them.

The original Max Payne dream sequence cutscene where he answers the telephone and the voice tells him he is in a game, he starts seeing ammo bars above his head and he feels like his actions are being controlled by someone else.

I liked how Golden Sun explained away critical hits by saying that it happens because of magic that is brought on by necessity. Also, Prince of persia did break the fourth wall. In the library, as you are moving around, Farah reads you a poem from one of the books. Prince replies with 'Can't you look for a book that will tell us how to get out of here?' Farah then says 'This isn't that sort of game.'

Well for what it's worth Snake uses a PS3 controller to control the Metal Gear MKII. Now the 4th wall isn't completely broken.

In Jak and Daxter sometimes. Daxter curses you out if you do something wrong, and in one particular scene in Jak 3, they have to race to stop something, and Jak and Daxter start joking. Then some girl says: "You think this is funny? You think this is a game?" Then Jak and Daxter turn to the camera and look straight at you.

Additionally, in Jak 2 Daxter reads through the racing contract that Krew has prepared, coming along eventually to a bit that that talks about game right, which causes him to do a sort of double-take.

Oh and if anyone has played a "Sam and Max" game, there pretty much wasn't a fourth wall to begin with.
