Anyone else broken rules/laws just to break them? Even if you think the rule in question is actually reasonable?

I once took off my shirt and sprinted down my highschool's hallway just to break the rule. Of course, I spent the next day in detention because of it but I didn't give a damn.

Arbitrary rules or not, have you done something like this?

I once waited for a teacher to specifically say "Only speak when you are spoken to, and don't do anything stupid" during an inspection. When the inspector came in, he asked me a question and I screamed something about government surveillance and alien conspiracies and ran out of the room. The five other guys at my table all joined in.

Totally worth the week of detention :D

The old saying "Rules are made to be broken" has some truth to it. Rules confine people to a single way of thinking, and that's not a good thing. Breaking a rule once in a while mixes things up. Even if the rule makes perfect sense, going against it provides a different perspective.

Do I break rules just for the sake of breaking rules? Sometimes.

No, mostly because I don't understand the point of it. I'm still punished, and I don't feel like I'm making any kind of statement except 'fuck the rules'. Why would I willingly incur a penalty when there's no gain?

Only the truly mundane crossing the road when there is no green man (the "its ok to cross the road signal" in England). I know it is there for mine and other peoples safety but I can't see any cars and I am in a rush.

Living life on the edge:

"People see me, and they see the suit, and they go: ?you?re not fooling anyone?, they know I?m rock and roll through and through. But you know that old thing, live fast, die young? Not my way. Live fast, sure, live too bloody fast sometimes, but die young? Die old. That?s the way- not orthodox, I don?t live by ?the rules? you know. And if there?s one other person who?s influenced me in that way I think, someone who is a maverick, someone who does that to the system, then, it?s Ian Botham. Because Beefy will happily say ?that?s what I think of your selection policy, yes I?ve hit the odd copper, yes I?ve enjoyed the old dooby, but will you piss off and leave me alone, I?m walking to John O?Groats for some spastics."

Usually only when I have something to gain.
So not bothering to do useless homework usually. More time for fun. :D

Oh, and never having correct uniform. Shirt untucked, no jumper... can't be fucked to tuck my shirt in. And I hate the jumper.

I dunno, I do it to destroy the feeling that I'm just another cog in the wheel, that I agree with our currupted society.

That and it just feels good doing something that is against the rules. Punishment be damned!

Not, like, for the sake of breaking a rule. I happen to subscribe to the philosophy that proper rules are the ones that are made for a reason, and there are occasions when it's acceptable to break said rule provided you've thought about it good and hard and know why you're breaking it. Unless the rule is "do not prance about like a retard on the railing to the magma vats," any rule that is hard and fast and there is no circumstance where you can acceptably break it is a rule just for the sake of having a rule, and is thus a poorly-conceived one. I don't go out of my way to break such rules for the sake of contrariness, but I ignore them, which may cause some friction if the normal course of my business runs counter to that rule.

Never. Get. The job.

I am truly living life like an unemployed man.
...you have a point there. I shall rephrase my comment.

Never. Tuck-in. The shirt. (At school)

I was truly living life like a madman.

Rules that are there to protect people, I usually follow.

Rules such as "Clothes must be worn in public" hold little value to me.

At one of my old jobs I'd listen to my ipod while out on the lot (gathering carts), which is something the cart pushers were supposed to do. I'd also occasionally go over on my breaks. And on my last day at that job, I took an hour long break (instead of fifteen minutes) and pushed in maybe twenty carts during the last four hours of my shift all just because I felt like it.
