BREAKING: The Scorpion King 4: Quest for Power Trailer Revealed

I quite liked the first movie. Reminded me a lot of the first Conan the Barbarian film, which is my favourite movie of all time (tied with Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom). Both sequels were really, really lame though. The third one was quite a bit better than the second, but that isn't exactly saying much now, is it? Not to mention these strange additions of horrible wrestlers who I guess were/are trying to follow in Dwayne Johnson's (who's the only decent wrestler-turned-actor I've seen) footsteps, but instead are sinking in his shadow.

There's only, like, one wrestler in the second and third films combined. The others -- I assume you're talking about Randy Couture and Kimbo Slice -- are MMA dudes. The wrestler is Dave Bautista, who was in Guardians of the Galaxy -- a role that was basically the natural advancement of his SK3 role, so, really, the credit goes to SK3 for his success -- and rumor has it will be in the next James Bond movie. He's doing okay for himself as an actor. People did seem to really, really like him in Guardians of the Galaxy, after all.

Oh, and Eve Torres is in the fourth one. She was a wrestler. But we have no idea how she'll do, since we haven't seen it yet.

At first I just saw the thread title "BREAKING: The Scorpion King 4: Quest for..." and my mind automatically filled in the blank "...more money". Too bad they didn't call it that...then at least it could be a full parody of itself.

Well I'm not sure what Guardians of the Galaxy is, so I didn't know. I thought he'd be one of those one hit wonder wrestlers (is Cena even doing movies still?). Anyways, I thought his performance in Scorpion King 3 was kind of.. well, bad.

But then again, I'm not really into movies all that much barring certain exceptions, so perhaps a more experienced, passionate eye simply sees things I don't. I just saw a low budget, straight-to-DVD movie that wasn't anywhere near as good as the original. Kind of like Conan the Destroyer, actually.

Oh wow, they literally drop to the point of Hercules level of quality! Seriously it look like it was straight out of the that tv show!

I should clarify, when I mean Hercules, I mean this incarnation of Hercules http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0111999/ . How do you rate that?

Actually that's a really good comparison, I was thinking it looks a like Hercules from the 90's show myself. And that's not really a good thing.

I mean I loved the show as a kid, and I've gone back and watched the first couple of season again and found it to be still quite entertaining. It's cheap and goofy as hell, but it was kind of groundbreaking for it's time. Having something that has that aesthetic these days, given how much more we can do with technology now, just seems cheap and sad.

You know, if I didn't know better, I would say that this movie took it's title ideas from Superman 4 or something...

Other than that, after SK3, I really don't think this movie would even come close to topping it outside of maybe making SK2 look like an even poorer man's SK1... except in the quality department, which I still don't think it can compete with SK3... (At least Lou Ferrigno's in this, so I'll still check it out nonetheless...)
