After the month of empty wallet has passed us, this sale has popped up. I am considering getting the complete pack which is around $7 on Steam. Is there still a large playerbase? Are there any unlockables to help extend playtime online or is it your standard multiplayer shooter.

Considering it's free this weekend, you may as well check it out and decide for yourself. I find it to be fairly enjoyable, but I quickly grow bored of all multiplayer shooters so I quit after about 3 weeks.

Avoid it at all costs. (even if it costs you $7 to NOT play it)

It's just a woefully underdeveloped game. It's filled with bugs, engine errors, imbalances, terrible controls, and any number of other issues that usually plague bad, poorly made, or unfinished games. Not to mention it's player base is deader than the Quake 3 or DOD: Source communities.

Which, honestly, is a shame as I had had high hopes for it.

Just look for a different, quality game to buy with those 7 bucks.

Uh... I've played it on PC for about 60 hours since it came out. It's not woefully underdeveloped, lulz. You get the feeling that it is missing a whole lot of what would keep you playing it for years, yeah. That shouldn't stop you from having a blast of 30-60 hours of high def shooter.

Tried it for full price when it released and it's an utterly lacking multiplayer experience and shooter altogether. Lots of ideas Brink had sounded great but the ultimate execution of it failed.

You do what you like, but I'll let you know it is the frontrunner for my "worst game of the year" award. I thought it was terribly boring.

It was frankly awful at first, but it improved a lot - it's still visually unclear and the default maps are questionable quality at best, and the player base is pretty dead, but the game is well-balanced and flows smoothly.

If you have a dedicated group to play it with, it's awesome for the price.

It was an incredibly shitty game. I'm so glad I redboxed it before thinking about buying it.

I mean, seriously? The campaign was just a slew of multiplayer objective games in different maps. It tries to be TF2 (a game I really didn't like either) and ultimately just ends up being boring as hell.

LOL the fact Brink is a shooter released in 2011 on the Doom 3 engine is all you need to know.

Do you have TF2? It is much better than Brink, and free sans micro-credit. . .

Aaah,

I find people are too harsh with Brink. Would I buy it again, for full price? Hell, no!
But for $7? That's like.. three beers. Is it worth three beers? Yes.

What is true, though: If you have TF2, Cheers!
