Bloody hell man, we're not that important :p
Just do what I do, feel represented whenever Europe is mentioned. That way at least our continent is being acknowledged :D

Bretonia in Freelancer:

Well, they do speak with an American accent like everybody else, but whatever.
And many more games.

Latvia, where i come from, has been in like handful of games, and its enough. There was a whole level set in Latvia in Counter-Strike: Condition Zero Deleted scenes :p. But then again, we arent a mayor country and no-one really knows where Latvia is without googling it.

Ahem. We were still the most powerful force on the planet in Ghandi's time. We only began to decline in the 1950's.
No, you began to decline in the 19th century right after hitting your apex. That's what "decline" means. The 1950's is the point where your decline was more or less complete and your power was not only matched but dwarfed by other powers.
Whatever. I don't think about it too much. It reminds me of how David Cameron's brutalising the place. Anyway, we we had nukes, and that made us one of the three most powerful nations on Earth.
Britain began declining after after Victoria and lost its top position after 1915. also while yes we may have been the third most powerful single nation but we werent all that powerful after WW2, our empire was collapsing, Soviets, America and Europe were growing strong while we were declining massively because we couldnt between the Empire, europe or America and tbh we are still choosing today

Look, even if your absurdly oversimplified notion of power was tenable, this isn't how taunting works. You're supposed to be witty about it, not just whine about whether or not the other guy's taunts were perfectly accurate.

You're also bad at quote tags. Text goes below the /quote.

There would be more video games that featured Britain if the majority of video game companies weren't based only in America and Japan. It's essentially the same reason that Mongolia or Portugal aren't featured in a lot of games. Start making more video games in your country and maybe things will change.

I'm not even saying that there aren't games that doesn't have British stuff in it. Like people have already said, Call of Duty, Fable, and WH40k games all feature a fair amount of Brits in it.

It's probably because most games are made by countries which hate us and portray in shit light and people who try to do HILLARIOUS british accents. I belive it was Yahtzee's Killzone Review where he NAILS it on the head, so yea if you havent seen it i reccomend you do.

Great Britain/England is overpowered as hell in Medieval II: Total War and Napoleon: Total War.
>_<

In Medieval they have armor-piercing Longbows, which are the best missle units besides the French Scots Guard (Which you'll probably never get anyway :l), and in Napoleon they have the best riflemen and light infantry in the entire game. Tain't fair. ;_;

OK, I didn't get a word you just said. Firstly, I didn't realise I was taunting anyone and secondly, I'm just using the default quote tag thing.

What about all the badass British Imperial Guard characters in Warhammer 40K games?
To be fair, i have never played that game. Are they evil?
And i only said most games, which i've found to be true.
Especially WW2 games.
How are British people in WWII games shown badly, they're usually shown as brave, witty soldiers.

As for Warhammer 40K, well everyone is a bad guy in their own way. The Imperial Guard have good intentions, it's just the way they go about it that can be questionable.
All I can say is Imperial Guard ftw; the fact they made them British in DoW2 just made them all the more awesome; it made them feel more to what I'd imagine the Imperial Guard to feel like. Lord Commissar is awesome, especially all his grumblings when ordered about.

I think the use of the SAS in Modern Warfare was pretty cool. In fairness I can't think of any games where we're portrayed badly, we show up well in all the ones I've played with main characters that are British. All, what, four of them?
What about Killzone?
Sure they weren't ACTUALLY British, but they had the accent!
And the ties with Nazi's which i found odd.
From memory, Killzone 1 wasn't too heavy on the British Nazis; most of them were just non-descript gasmask wearing goons with comm voices and I never felt that Scholar Visari sounded at all British. Their announcer in MP was pretty cool though, especially when he was counting down the time left. Of course since then its been BRITISH SPACE NAZIS FOR THE WIN!

Bolded seems like a failure on your part. I don't see how I could've made things more explicit than "third-rate world power that can't even stand up to Gandhi."

Not really bothered tbh, ooo were not shown in some videogames, must mean we are inferior to the rest of the world (despite at one point owning more than half of it ;) ) and yes before anyone mentions it I am typing this while enjoying a good ol' cuppa tea :)

Perhaps it's just the fact that i want to hang on to are old greatness that we once had, whereas we are inevitably slipping into decline and crumbling away into nothing like all the old empires?

Yeah, if Barry Island is in a game, it's going to involve a zombie apocalypse rather than a nuclear holocaust. Fallout: Hull I Can believe in!

Just thought of another game from outside the UK with Welsh accents. The Witcher 2 uses Welsh accents for people from one of the kingdoms, including the major character Saskia.

All you have to do is play Henry Hatsworth And The Puzzling Adventure for DS. It may be a complete stereotype of us Brits, but it still shows us in a nice, posh, moustached light.
