I use man and dude quite a lot, man much more often though, always legitimately. Often as a way to hide the fact I'm rubbish at remembering names.

I make a real effort to remember girls names though...

I use bro and variations of it. Like brah, or brofski. Usually in an ironic or satirical fashion.

I say "man" sometimes, usually while playing online. "Dude" and "bro" just aren't my thing. I use "Dudette" though ^^

Being a fan of Prinnies, I love the use of dooods, and bros. It sounds less funky than saying "friend" at the end of each sentence.

"I mean you no harm, friend!" *stab*

I've been saying "dude" for many years now, although I don't say it as often anymore. Same for "man." Most frequent use are in statements like "Hey man, how's it going?"

I never
EVER
EVER
use "bro" though

that word is fucking retarded
every time I hear it I think of two douchey white guys with gel-spiked hair and popped-collars giving eachother a chest bump. Or if you live in this area, much more likely, two "persian" guys.

only acceptable use is maybe if the person you are talking to is actually your brother.
Unless you want to be like Buster from Arrest Development and say "Heyyyyy brother!"

Yes. My vocabulary has currently degenerated to the point where it's essentially just slang, fluff and quotes held together by duct tape and passable grammar. Not happy about that.

Me, too. I also use *****, beotch (or however that's spelled) and woman. Mostly with my sister, as terms of endearment. And in return she calls me fat (I have 61 kg).

God, I love that *****.

I usually say "Bro" when talking to my guy friends, and "Babe" when talking to (Some of) my chick friends. Then again, I'm usually saying "Bro" ironically, since I only say it, via text message or online in some way.

There are maybe 3 people I actually call "Bro" when talking to them irl

Not bro, but definitely dude and man, dude.

Words such as these should be used more often by people. It makes you sound more casual and less stuck-up.

I say "man" and "dude" but the only time I will use the word "bro" is when I am joking around or being sarcastic or just butchering the word by using it like this
"Brotaco"
"Brohime"
"Broski"
"Broque"

and words of the like.

I have a plethora of things I call folks. The only one I don't really use is 'bro', unless I'm being sarcastic/mocking.

'Chap, dude, man, mate, pal, buddy, friend, mister, cabron' (thanks, Grim Fandango), and my personal favourite - 'chief'.

Those are mostly masculine variants, but the ladies can be 'dude' OR 'dudette', 'love', 'miss' or if I'm feeling cheeky, 'ma'am'.

There's always using people's names too...

"Bro"-Never. I fucking hate "bro".

"Man"-Only when talking to strangers (male only, obviously) around my dorm, as in "Hey man, can you turn your [MOTHERFUCKING] music down?" Stuff like that.
"Dude"-More often then the other two, and sometimes I even call my friends "dude", though not a lot.
