Hey y'all! I've gotten kind of bored of video games these past few years. I'm stuck in a place where I only buy and play old games that I've played a million times before. Guess I'm too narrow minded to try out new crap.

Well, I'd like to change that. And I'll need your help in order to do it.
I'd like for you to recommend a game that you think I'd enjoy. Or something that you enjoy a great deal.

The games I play regularly are: Final Fantasy series, Harvest moon, Resident evil, Mario, Zelda, point and click games (a lot of them) and...hmm. Heroes of might and magic I suppose.

So surprise me! What should I play, that will get out of this pit of repetition I'm in? Doesn't have to be a newly released game.

I own a NDS, Wii, PS3 and everything beneath that generation of consoles.

Captcha: Narrow-minded.
How the hell...

Zelda you say?

If you haven't played Okami yet, then you really should, especially if you like the 3D Zelda titles.

I'd recommend the "Tales of" series, what with its' excellent stories and characters, and how it takes RPG cliches and turns them on their heads.

In terms of third-person shooters, the Bioshock and Mass Effect games may or may not be worth a play.

And if point and click games are your thing, then Telltale games might have something you might find interesting. (like Sam and Max, Back to the Future, Strong Bad's Cool Game for Awesome People...)

I'd recommend posting a game discussion in the game forum. And if you want a good game to play, I'd recommend Gunpoint. [http://www.gunpointgame.com/] I don't play any video games at all, usually, but this one I bought and liked.

Final Fantasy eh? I'd say go get Lost Odyssey, but you didn't list having a 360. It's by Mistwalker studios, founded by the creator of Final Fantasy and probably one of the best JRPGs on current gen home consoles. Fair warning though, it is an old-school turn-based rpg with random encounters. But the ring system and combat is quite good even while being slower-paced.

If you've got a PS2, I'd recommend Dragon Quest VIII. Also an old-school turn-based rpg with random encounters. If you dig exploring, crafting, a light-hearted story, and the artstyle from Dragonball Z you'll likely enjoy it.

Some good stuff there, made by some bloke named after a board game that does snarky reviews on some games site.

one that I've been having way too much fun with is Spelunky.

Surprisingly simple but deep platformer.

CLOSE ENOUGH YOU GO PLAY MYST ONLINE NOW OK? OK!

But no, seriously. Try it. You've never played anything like it, and you will never play anything like it ever again. And it's free.

Do you like strategy? if you do try alpha centauri

I've heard of Tales of Symphonia. It's supposed to be awesome and the shit! Which one do you recommend? the GC version is pretty out of the question, it's rare and reaaaaally expensive. But if you recommend it then I'll keep it in mind anyways :)
I have problems with shooters, especially fps. However, I have played Bioshock & Mass Effect. Played pretty much everything from Telltale :)

Good to know. Tales of Symphonia is a great game (there's a sequel, but I'd recommend avoiding that one unless you're really curious. Otherwise, Tales of Vesperia and Tales of the Abyss are worth looking into.

if you like point-n-clicks, I'd recommend the quest for glory series. Its a point n click rpg series made by Sierra.
A game I'vee sunk way too many hours on recently is Rogue Legacy. A castlevania-y type game

I can say that it is quite the shit, the trailer really shows how cool the setting is.

Since you enjoy Final Fantasy I'd recomend the Grandia series. The three games they made for PS/PS2(fuck Grandia Xtreme) are all great with a really fun combat system.
Grandia III is definetly the weakest in the series, but still a good game.

Grandia is my FAVORITE rpg out there. Beats FFVI and VII in a heartbeat.
Seriously. Was I the only one who really got attached to Sue? not even Aerith or Terra could get me to care as much as for the characters in Grandia.

If you haven't played their The Walking Dead, go out and get it now! My 2012 GOTY, in my opinion one of the best games I've ever played, and for the most part has had universal acclaim.

The new Humble Bundle has some great games in it. For $5 you can get Bastion, Limbo, Mark of the Ninja, three games I recommend, as well as a bunch others that admittedly haven't played. Even just one dollar will get you Mark of the Ninja.
The Walking dead was the only new game I played last year I believe. Never cried as much as when I played that game.
Well...maybe Aerith made me cry more.
Yeah. Yeah she did.

There's something about games that make me care for kids. I hate kids (really. I trip them over on the street when no one's watching and blow into new born babies' face so they choke just a liiiiiittle bit. Try it it's hilarious), yet Grandia and the Walking Dead have made me care for two little girls. I'm amazed
