HARDCORE!!! Gamer: You only play competitively, but once people start getting competitive it ruins the experience for you. English is not a first language for you, no language is, the best you could hope for is some garbled sub-version of English or at best Leet-Speak. Doesn't really matter to you though, so long as you make sure you're the only one having a good time. In fact, you're the only one who should be having a good time, which is why you find it so hard to believe that some companies aren't focusing on games that comply to your specific pallet of gaming. The easiest conclusion you can draw is that those companies suck and those who decidedly play those games and buy those consoles are Noob Losers who wouldn't know real gaming if it was fired at them out of the barrel of the Class M15 Semi-Automatic Gatling Gun strapped to your favorite characters broad, oversized shoulders. Heaven forbid anyone disagree with you on this subject or try to prove your bias assumptions wrong. They must have not read your run-on sentence on how much they and their console suck hard enough, you should re-post it. You're the self-proclaimed best at what ever game you're playing, the only way people can beat you is if they use hacks which you are quick to call out on, but not hesitant to use yourself if the situation arises. Besides, you're the best right? This qualifies you to cheat, seeing how you'd win anyway, right? It's ether that or they're simply not playing the game right, or we should say not in a way that mimics you exactly or allows you the luxury of winning. That's a right reserved for you and you alone, it's why you play games in the first place. If it's not Gray, Black, and Brown; it's probably not worth your time.
This rules, and this effectively ends this stupid fucking "debate" once and for all.

I wouldn't consider myself "hardcore" as a gamer(5 stars for time spent and skill), just a passionate gamer who loves my Xbox 360(4 stars for time spent and skill, most of that being time spent on single player games).

I'd say I can name about 60%-70% of those

There's no such thing as a hardcore gamer, it's just an old wives tale they use to scare the children.

But in all seriousness I've never enjoyed this ranking of gamers that seems to be so common nowadays, it's fine to classify gamers (Retro gamers, puzzle gamers etc) but when you contrast casual with hardcore you can see what I mean.
Actually, I can't see what you mean, please elaborate...
Well what I meant is that it seems to me that the title of "Hardcore gamer" is to gamers that support this kind of classifcation what "Strongest, coolest and most attractive person on earth" is to people who vy for that kind of thing. From what I've seen these same people use terms like "Casual gamer" as some kind of insult.

Edit: Also, what made you jump to the word 'contrast' as opposed to any other word, such as compare? I see the concepts as on a sliding scale or continuum not armies ready for war...Hence my call for peace I suppose.
Well to me contrast just sounds a whole lot snazzier.
