Browser games are like other games, they range from fantastic to awful. Runescape is good for what it is and there's some great stuff amongst all the crap on Newgrounds.

Kongregate is probably one of the best sites for free browser games (or flash games in general).

that or old-school NES games you can play on the internet too.

Boy I wish I knew what you were saying. Browser games can be good or bad. The last one I got into was Torn City and it was a good time sink for a solid year and a half.

Browser games are only limited by the fact that they must be able to function in a browser. So, that's like limiting it to java or flash or some fancy php stuff (which I don't know much about).

Flash isn't really that good for games, and java's a bit more powerful, but it's also not the best either.

I'd really like to address the question but I'm just honestly not sure what's being asked. Invading? Innovating?

You're talking about Kristian playing Travian? ^^,

Well the kind of never-ending MMO-like gameglay that Travian, Runescape, Adventure Quest etc. offers, isn't really my cup of tea.
Yes I have played those games. They seem fun at first, but after you've played awhile you start to feel empty inside, slowly realing what waste of time it is, while on the other side you may not want to let go of the game, so the hours and hours you put into the game would be wasted.

Apart from those, I think there are a lot of cool browser games around. And many different.
I personally prefer indie/art, strategy, and some puzzle.

Not to mention point'nclick adventure, most important genre in browser games!

A lot of what you can find on Kongregate you can also find on Newgrounds. Newgrounds also has more games but they aren't all great. As has been said: browser games are like every other game in that they range from really bad to really good. Also check out Adult Swim's game site.

Most flash games are broken pieces of Crap athough there are a few hidden gems. Tryout Lesbian Spider Queens of Mars and a few other adultswim games. Use Xpadder to play with a pad

tell him to watch bytejacker especially the indie rapid fire section
