Well the kind of never-ending MMO-like gameglay that Travian, Runescape, Adventure Quest etc. offers, isn't really my cup of tea.
Yes I have played those games. They seem fun at first, but after you've played awhile you start to feel empty inside, slowly realing what waste of time it is, while on the other side you may not want to let go of the game, so the hours and hours you put into the game would be wasted.
Apart from those, I think there are a lot of cool browser games around. And many different.
I personally prefer indie/art, strategy, and some puzzle.
Not to mention point'nclick adventure, most important genre in browser games!
