here is the soundtrack for Brutal Legend, it's pretty damn good BUT the music director states that she wants it to represent all categories of metal and I'm a little peaved that my favorite genre isn't very well represented:

Now that's a really bad-ass play list, and I'm fucking excited about this game already, but I was a little disappointed that when it comes to DOOM metal, the only band I see on there is Candlemass, and that particular song isn't what I call good Doom. Hell, I'm not that big on Candlemass in general, pretty cheesy stuff and the singer is a real corn dog. So my complaint is, no Electric Wizard, no Eye Hate God, no Acid Bath, all music that would go great with the epic theme of this game.

What do you think, metalheads? What's missing from the Brutal Legend soundtrack? Tear it apart now, while they still have time to secure rights!

YES.

FUCK YES. I missed some obvious exceptions.

What about the balance of genres? Does the random inclusion of Candlemass, Ministry, and Dimmu Borgir really count as representative of Doom, Industrial, and Black metal?

There is a huge selection of music there with a lot of tracks that are no doubt personal picks by the people who made the game. It seems sort of pointless to complain. If you have your own favourite tracks then listen to them instead.

K.M.F.D.M??????????????????????????????????????

Not even their metal output more electro and rip the systems almost a dub track unless it's a remix. They are an awesome band just not what I was hoping for on this.

Cradle of Filth there is no excuse for that at all.

I would dig Finn Troll, Turisas, Korpiklanni, Cathedral, Orange Goblin, Moonsorrow, Machinehead!

Oh and did I mention there being no excuse for Cradle of Filth? Because I may not buy it just because of the presence of "Her Ghost in the Fog" meaning I have some of their poisonous drivel in any form in my house!

No it really doesnt count. most of it is american metal which doesnt really stack up too well against their european counterparts. but the lack of amon amarth and manowar is lame. it isnt a bad sound track its just americanized.

edit needs some hammerfall as well.

Umm maybe they tried to add those bands, but couldn't due to legal rights.

I think some of you guys miss the point that maybe it is your bands fault why the music is not on there and not the developers. I know a few bands who should have been on that lists, but didn't sign the waver to allow Double Fine to use their songs.

They also want to acknowledge hard rock on the lists as well, not just metal remember.

I am just glad Judas Priest, Motörhead, Black Sabbath/Ozzy, and a few other of my favorites are on there.

Too bad Meat Loaf is not on there, but I can live. The game is going to be so bad-ass. Played the demo and I stoke.

Blitzkrieg! Blitzkrieg!
Blitzkrieg BOOM!

The presence of Deathstars is pleasant, the lack of Amon Amarth isn't too nice.
Oh well, can't have everything.
Korpiklaani would be nice, too. But it might be difficult to find a matching moment for "HUNTING IS GOING ON YAYAH YAYAYAH WE ARE A PART OF THE WILDERNESS!"

Kyuss or Meshuggah would have been nice. But then again, I doubt I'll play it.

I'd complain about no Rhapsody of Fire, but given how their lyrics tend to tell a very specific story (CDs = entire sagas), I can understand their exclusion.
