Seriously, get over yourself people. I don't know how so many people are just getting all doom and gloomy on here but we definitely don't need more than 1 type of this thread, I think people are just being so pessimistic about other people and think that because bad things in the world are happening then every single inhabitant of this planet is evil. Same goes for the internet. Lose your faith in bad people, not in humanity, there are millions of amazing people on this world, you just have to stop expecting to see shit, and you will stop seeing it.

Yeah, I have to agree with you. 1 person does something horrendous, and suddenly it's the whole of humanity that's at fault.

On another note, the one place that makes me feel that humanity is a good thing and there are good people in the world is, oddly, Reddit.

I was the first poster in the "why are YOU losing faith in humanity" thread and this was my post.

"Having no faith in humanity is pretty much common place here, this thread will probably get at least 100 replies by people who think they have lost faith in humanity. Personally, I have not lost faith in humanity, I like to think that there is always good in the world and random twats don't keep me from having that opinion."

After looking through that thread it seemed like only a few people shared the same opinion as me. So I must say that this sort of thinking IS common place here on the escapist.

Lose your faith in bad people, not in humanity, there are millions of amazing people on this world, you just have to stop expecting to see shit, and you will stop seeing it.

There aren't millions of amazing people in the world. In fact, almost nobody is "amazing". In contrast, there are billions of horrid, disgusting fleshsacks to contrast, and I'm one of them. If it meant that the extermination of the human race was definite and scheduled within the next five years, I would give up my life right now with no qualms. Time to give another species the chance to fuck everything up.

You're sat on two of humanities most amazing inventions, the computer and the internet, sat in a structurally secure house engineered to near perfection so that it will last over a century, if you were to fall ill you would get medical care nobody would have dreamed of 100 years ago, allowing us to extend our average life span by 50+ years. Right now we understand the inner networks of atoms and molecules, the billions of neutrinos and photons per cubic centimetre streaming to us from the sun. We can predict weather that early man used to think of acts of gods. Get the hell over yourself and think of what we have achieved in the last 100 years, be a part of it, stop putting us down.

No haha its something a hilarious radio presenter does here in the UK, he urges middle aged people (40-60ish) to send in particularly middle aged things they are doing that day, and makes funky new aged jingles out of them. Sadly i cannot find it on the internet.

It's all a matter of perspective. If you read every doom n gloom story in the news, listen to opinionated douchebags like sxephil, or use facebook, you will get sick of humanity and all it's intrinsic horrors.

Spend time with good people, stop reading every disaster and mass murder story you find, and start watching funny shit on youtube again. Remember when youtube was all about having a laugh?

Do that, and before you know it the desire to peel yourself like a satsuma will subside.

But it's the fact that people need something to give them faith in humanity in the first place, it should be a given considering the vast majority of people on this earth aren't slaughtering each other right now.

Apparently he like minecraft, LoL, listens to the radio, uses Chrome, has windows 7 (and yet has not changed the colour of his taskbar despite having a very colourful wallpaper image) and uses steam.

I feel like I've known him for years...

Again, you're looking at a small minority and forget about the positives, it's human nature to do this however.

E.g. when playing games, you always notice losses and get extremely annoyed at them, and it feels like you lose too much, even if you lose 1 game in every 5. You notice the negatives and ignore the positives, there's so many good things that people overlook, stop putting the rest of humanity down because there's a few stragglers that look bad.
