Definitely agree with you OP. It is severe overreacting to some bad news, and people just don't seem to take a glance at all the positive things going on around them. They only concentrate on the small amount of bad things.

There aren't millions of amazing people in the world. In fact, almost nobody is "amazing". In contrast, there are billions of horrid, disgusting fleshsacks to contrast, and I'm one of them. If it meant that the extermination of the human race was definite and scheduled within the next five years, I would give up my life right now with no qualms. Time to give another species the chance to fuck everything up.

What a great big load of shit, buddy. You need to get outside some more and interact with people. There are many decent human beings in this world. Sure, there are plenty of worthless shitheads, but there are more regular joes just trying to survive.

Those "regular joes" are the people I interact with at work, and I think of them as worthless shitheads as well. Their existence upsets me. These are not "decent" human beings - they are wastes of oxygen.

What's so bad about your life that you have this attitude, I'm intrigued.

Science and technology are two of the few things which have kept me going. The number of people who are intimate with the inner workings of the universe are an extremely small proportion of the population, and as I have proven myself a failure at science, I have little reason to continue much longer. All I see is darkness in the future, as media scaremongering and deliberate obfuscation of the facts keeps us from progression.

OT: people on this forum are around their teenage years, known to many as "that time". Around that age, things start getting very serious and dramatic and you overreact to a lot of things. In other words, angst.

And some people never grow up. Therefore, that logically leads to 4 "I HAVE LOW OPINIONS OF HUMANITY AND WANT TO EXPRESS THEM ON THIS FORUM" threads on the first page.

I'm 17 and i feel silly being dramatic, just seems juvenile to think that you can do something on such a huge scale such as judging humanity as a whole when you've seen so little in life.

How offensive is it during a discussion to tell me in need specialist help. What the fuck is that. What I meant was, why not just label it 'nice stories thread', that would be fine. A lot of us should not need something to boost our faith in humanity, it should be there, we should be proud to be human as it is.

Also, we're hardly in an age of recession, it's again doom and gloom mongering of the media, we can all afford computers, ipods and xboxs, were hardly in hard financial times compared to real recessions weve had in the past.

They could have noticed the "Why are YOU losing faith in humanity?" topic and decided to counter it. Also what should be and what is are often two very different things. We should be able to live in peaceful co-existence, yet we wage wars in the middle east to fight an invisible threat. We should be able to sleep at night with our doors unlocked and windows open if we want, yet if we do people would say it's our fault if are robbed and killed during the night.

I don't know how so many people are just getting all doom and gloomy on here but we definitely don't need more than 1 type of this thread, I think people are just being so pessimistic about other people and think that because bad things in the world are happening then every single inhabitant of this planet is evil. Same goes for the internet. Do people really think they are hot shit just because they have one of those? Perhaps it's a matter of objectivity (or quality), but I respect deeper discussion of a subject more than who was able to get the most one-liners, "fuck its" and My Little Pony replies in their thread.

If People "lose" their faith in humanity they had it for false reasons before. I guess many of them are just in the phase of growing up in which you realize that things simply arent as good as you pictured them as a child. It's just a Phase get over it!
What no one of them understands is how much humanity has progressed in the last century despite being as stupid, greedy and easy to trick as they are! No offence, but all these whiners are what natural selection would refer to the weakest links. Losing faith in humanity is losing faith in yourself, already acknowledging that you have absolutely zero power to make good deeds.

Humanity isn't just everyone, it's also you. The other human beings that still and will always fight the good fight won't miss you.

I dunno, I'd say believing that humans are unreasonably violent makes me less likely to be killed by them over people who have endless faith in the kindness of the race that bought you the nuclear bomb.

You gotta admit, good people are vastly outnumbered. If we refuse to acknowledge the evil in this world, no one will ever fix it. That's the first step. See there is something wrong. Find the cause. Fix it in whatever way you can.
