Yeah, it is pretty silly. I went through a period of hating humanity a while back, but realised that just because I'm filled with existential doubt, it doesn't mean everyone is stupid for not taking a Nihilistic approach to every morally debatable subject.

Hehe. I think it's sort of cute. People like that sound like my little sisters, but with bigger words. "The world's rubbish and I hate you all and I wish you all would die!" Before sticking their bottom lip out and stomping off. All frumpy. ^^

Oh I love humanity with all it's precious little flaws, I just think we are collectively a bunch of morons.

Everything we do seems to be against any form of logic.

What will these people ever invent or discover? These days, you can't discover anything unless you've dedicated your life to research, and pretty much anybody that is within my interaction circle has not. They've dedicated their lives to useless retail jobs and other endeavours which are useless to the progression of the species - apart from one thing, the bearing of children, and what percentage of those will proceed to do great things? Living for procreation is good enough for the lesser apes, or cats and dogs, or insects. It should not be enough for the top-level species in the hierarchy.
I'm extremely disappointed. This reasoning is absolutely backwards. What is the point of inventing or dicovering new things (medicines, technology etc.) if not to perpetuate the species, the vast majority of which is useless. How can discovering things that will improve the quality of life of worthless people be worthwhile? You need to get your priorities straight and realise that everyone is scum. Stop drawing arbitrary distinctions.

Look what i saw just at a glance of the off-topic discussion.

Seriously, get over yourself people. I don't know how so many people are just getting all doom and gloomy on here but we definitely don't need more than 1 type of this thread, I think people are just being so pessimistic about other people and think that because bad things in the world are happening then every single inhabitant of this planet is evil. Same goes for the internet. Lose your faith in bad people, not in humanity, there are millions of amazing people on this world, you just have to stop expecting to see shit, and you will stop seeing it.
THANK YOU

No offence, but all these whiners are what natural selection would refer to the weakest links. Losing faith in humanity is losing faith in yourself, already acknowledging that you have absolutely zero power to make good deeds.

Humanity isn't just everyone, it's also you. The other human beings that still and will always fight the good fight won't miss you.
Thank you brave sir for saying whats on most peoples minds.

*cries more tears of happiness*

I dunno, I'd say believing that humans are unreasonably violent makes me less likely to be killed by them over people who have endless faith in the kindness of the race that bought you the nuclear bomb.

OT: Aw hell, so anyone who had that point of view is a whiner? Or just someone with a point of view?

You gotta admit, good people are vastly outnumbered. If we refuse to acknowledge the evil in this world, no one will ever fix it. That's the first step. See there is something wrong. Find the cause. Fix it in whatever way you can.

I'm really starting to get annoyed with people thinking you're emo if you don't pee rainbows, s*** ice cream, and vomit positive vibes. I'll admit, I'm a cynic. But I'm a cynic with plans to do something about what I complain about instead of just brooding in a corner.
I never said there isn't a lot of evil in the world. Actually there's as much evil as there is good, it's just that good deeds aren't as newsworthy. You also have to note that some of the most critical scientific and technological advances were only possible due to people's desire to be superior to another. Yes, even the internet has its origins in the military.

However what really bugs me isn't having a pessimistic view on the matter, but a nihilist one. Just a few posts before mine was a fellow that made me want to reach out through the monitor and punch him square in the jaw. So there's a lot of bad things happening in the world, so you're just bending over, accept it and do nothing to make it right? To adapt for our survival is what makes us humans the dominant species of the planet.

You know the biggest joke? All of these doomsayers are likely middle to upper-class youths living in comfortable homes with no worries about their survival. You look at the poorest countries in the world and you see people striving to fight for survival, never giving up despite everything being against them. Irony at its best.

Losing your faith in humanity is in vogue right now. Duh.
Honestly, though, it's a little depressing to know that no one has faith in me. I'm human, after all.

Because people tend to cry and pout like little children if they don't get what they want, or people don't do what they do, and they have to throw a big SULK about it. I know what you mean though I too am tired of the "lost faith in humanity" or any similar woe is me threads.

But I do like the irony that most of them who post those don't realize, that they must have lost faith in themselves too since they are part of humanity as well. So that always makes me laugh.

By "amazing people", I assume you mean people that meet a standard you have set as amazing, because there are likely a lot of cool people that you think are shit. moreover; the idea that there are bad people and good people. Lolz, enjoy your moral relativism.

I hated humanity before it was cool!

OT:I lose faith because of my experience of dealing with morons and failures in the real world and the internet. When you have idiot presidents, swearing 5 year olds, and douchebags being famous for being dickheads, how can you have faith in humanity!
Then we all take a good step back and realise...

'Holy shit, all those guys I just mentioned make a very small minority and in fact do not reflect Humanity as whole!'

OT: I've been mugged six times in the last 5 years, only one of those times were my atackers found, was subject to bullying in what is still considered a modern edcational system from te moment I left lower school, I live in a town where it's routine for 5 year olds to try and hold up people in the street with stanley knives... And that's only if those people are taking a break from drinking themselves to death. So how's my faith in humanity looking?

Holy shit, it's intact, how can this be?!

Maybe it's because unlike some truly ridiculous dick-sponges, I can sit back and realise that there is actually good shit going on as well...

Also you still rolling soraka often after the changes to her? Seen a lot of people moaning about the changes to supports.
You betcha. I always played my Soraka with a lot of harassment, so making her less passive suits me just fine. Just gotta remind my lanepartner my heal's on a 20 sec cd now and then. Still my favourite champion, even though I'm learning Cass atm.

Man is not something worth having faith in. It is not hard to realize it's a recursive expense to ones self-esteem. The only option therefore is to have faith in something that is not Man. Something better than Man.
