Y'see. This is why I like Buddhists. They speak a lot of sense, but without the bullshit extras religion loves to throw in. They are able to be spiritual, but not be a dick to others who don't share their beliefs, nor feel the need to convert the masses.
This.

I still prefer Jedi, but Buhddism (Typo so sue me) comes close second on religions if I had to choose would convert to.

I'd convert in a heart beat the second they develop the Buddhist mind trick.

He's got a good sound reasoning. I've had plenty of times when I was ready to go L4D Tank irl on things and people because of assholes at work or just trying to get home. A good hour of mayhem on GTA: Vice City took care of that urge. Anybody thinks just counting to ten or thinking happy thoughts will take care of a temper issue, kudos for them if it works (although I have my doubts) But don't try to tell me it works for me, I may forget to find my best method of aggression pacification.

I like this guy. I don't much care for religion in any form, but Buddhism just gained a few points with me.
Take that Jack Thomson!

Ah, i slept well after reading this.

Surprising that instead of hate from a very influential figure, its positive, lets see the world ignore possible the most influential man in Asia currently, supporting gaming.

He's exactly right and it's good to see an important figure who has a view on games, and has ACTUALLY PLAYED THEM BEFORE.

Also on a sideline, has anyone noticed that GTA and the like are blamed for making us want to be murderers, but Guitar Hero deters us from playing musical instruments?

Surely we should all either be murderous rock stars or... well, not?

This post makes me happy, because now I can say "I was a Buddhist before it was cool"
I know, right? ^_^

It's great to know I'm not the only Buddhist out there that thinks videogames are A-OK, overall.
