A Hermit's Cave
Well... I'm currently playing Assassin's Creed III... and yes, I'm aware it's a shit game, the combat's crap, the free-running is rubbish compared to its predecessors, the enemies are inconsistent (though that may be because of my colour blindness, can't tell the difference between a fucking Jaeger and a Hessian) and the PC took a decided downgrade from Haytham to Connor. Granted, he's not a total dick... yet, probably, since I'm only on Sequence 5.

However, not here to talk about that...

I've had a third-ish of the challenge of the game taken out of it, probably another reason why I'll likely stop playing in about ten or fifteen hours' time. Somehow, once Sequence 5 started, I noticed that all the collectibles are now visible (Peg Leg trinkets, treasure, feathers, the lot). At first, I thought... thank you kindly, now I won't have to waste money on the maps, but it's made the exploration a bit pointless now.[footnote]Still, the game world is so fucking large and you're left without a horse so many times after those execrable cutscenes that most of your time is spent sprinting, but that's a whole other discussion.[/footnote]

So, any apparent bugs/glitches be of apparent help for you guys?

I was trying to beat General RAAM on insane from the first Gears of War. Must have tried and failed at least 10 times in a row when he glitched into a piece of cover and got stuck. It made him significantly easier to kill. Still kinda robbed some of the satisfaction from it though.

Well that "glitch" in Dark Souls with the first Titanite Demon certainly makes it the easiest thing since Pinwheel. You sit behind this one rock and poke him with arrows until he dies. He either loses interest in you completely or his lasers get blocked by the rock and he never bothers to get into melee range. I believe Rookie took this one step further and used the same concept as the cheapest way to beat Havel I have ever seen.

Well I say glitch but Dark Souls quickly becomes a game of Find The Exploit on its own. Still can't believe you can make the human/bat hybrids in Anor Londo fall to their deaths when they have been proven to have perfectly functional wings just an hour or so before. Have some consistancy game.

I have to mention UMVC3... It's not exactly glitchy but things just seem to happen randomly in this game every so often. There's a reason why the competitive scene raised the amount of matches needed to win exclusively for Marvel. Anyone who has played the game for a decent amount of time knows what i'm talking about. Maybe this is a decent example. DAT ENDING

I love this guy's editing.

XCOM: EU apparently is known for the teleport bug, which can randomly cause enemies to teleport in the midst of your squad and ruin your ironman game. But that actually helped me in the mission where you first encounter the Ethereal. There are two Sectopods patrolling outside the UFO, and they are tough to take on since they tend to attack together. One of them just appeared in front of my squad with no other xrays in sight and it was my turn. So I could take it down easily, and the other one wasn't a huge problem anymore.

On Skyrim I was doing one of those go to X, kill Y, retrieve Z quests in a dungeon. The first few times I tried to kill the mage the guy destroyed me with his magic. Retried 2 more times, no luck and thought 'one more go and then I'll give up for now' and as I approached the room the mage stood up, spun around a few times then yelled and was flung across the room dead. No idea what happened but it got me the quest item pretty easily.

A glitch save my skin in Morrowind. I hadn't been playing long, and wasn't too sure of what I was supposed to be doing. I'd killed enough locals to get some gear and transport to another city. I look around, then stop somewhere to sleep. However, upon waking up, a member of the Dark Brotherhood has appeared and starts trying to kill me.

And this is where the glitch comes in. See, I'd slept in a room that just had a long line of bunk beds. He spawned in, I should have rightfully died by his hand. Except he spawned inside one of the bunk beds. He couldn't move and he couldn't attack me. So I hit him for a couple of minutes until he died, whereupon I took all of his stuff. That early on, his armour alone made me a fortune.

So, not only did the glitch save my characters life, it gave her a very good boost at such an early stage in the game :)

Funnily enough, me and three other guys were online trying to beat Gears 3 on the insane, towards the end of the level about Dom's hometown, we were getting destroyed. We must've all gotten killed 20 times, until some glitch made us all spawn on a point that was originally reserved for enemy's only. Was a cakewalk after that.

You might want to spoiler that. I've never played/ never going to play GOW, but I do know that Dom is kind of a major character, and I imagine

His death

Might come as a surprise to people who haven't played the third one yet.

OT: The Flamelurker in Demons' souls. After spending about 2 hours continually dying to him, i eventually found an area in the arena where he was unable to get to. I soul arrow'd him to death and got his soul. Then i got to 4-2 and quit because fuck the silver skeletons. I'll come back to it one day.

Missingno! :D Now there's a useful glitch if there ever was one! Oh, and the one that lets you catch Mew, or any other Pokemon you want, by exploiting a flaw in the way the game calls up the info for a Pokemon by using fly after getting into a battle with someone off screen.

Trying out the Borderlands 2 pirate DLC, and it seems my guns stopped using ammunition.
This wasn't ammo regen or something. My guns literally had permanently infinite magazines.

Now think about the fact that I was a level 36 Gunzerker with a Torgue assault rifle and Jakobs shotgun and all the perks needed to allow convenient accurate gunzerkering with constant duration lengthening-ing.
I did restart my game fairly quickly, if ruined the challenge in an already easy section.

Wells in Dwarf Fortress make salt water drinkable. That's useful because its very hard to find river near ocean that doesn't also have salt water and I usually do embark near ocean because beaches in that game are just so pretty.

In Dark Souls, when I fought the centipede demon, it ended up jumping out of the map and dying.

Skyrim

Some cave in the middle of nowhere. Me as a low level make it the end of the cave.

Draugr deathlord (or w/e those tough fuckers are called, been too long)

First time i thought, ok i can do this. Was also my first time running into one of em. Needless to say he kicked my ass.

Ok reload. Lets do this the sneaky way. So i sneak down near the door. And start hitting him with my bow and arrow. After 2 arrows he sees me and takes a few runs towards me.

Then he stops! and better yet. i am invisible again.

Then it was just headshot after headshot. Took me a fair amount of time.

He was probably stuck behind a big stone table or something now that i think about it.

Later with another character i did the exact same thing, and it felt gooooood.

I had a similar experience the first time I fought the Taurus Demon. He knocked me off the bridge to my death... then jumped after me.
