Building a gaming PC

I came here awhile back asking for a gaming rig for about 400 dollars, I didn't go through with buying it however as Many issues (and juicy games) showed up shortly after. This time I am coming here with a dedicated budget for a gaming rig.


what i do not need: monitor, mouse, or keyboard. already have them
What I need: the parts for the computer, an OS (windows 7 preferred)
What I want it for: playing games. Skyrim, ME3, borderlands 2, etc
my budget: $1000

Take a look at the near $1000 tier here
What kind of monitor you have? If it's an ancient 17" you should look for a new one. It'll be a waste of good hardware if you're going to game on low resolutions.

I was planning on just hooking it up to my TV. 36" flatscreen
