Building a PC for the first time

I'm building my first PC and I"m a little lost. Any help with picking the components would be greatly appreciated. I have a budget of about $600 - $800( preferably less, but feel free to go over) and I need

First off, before I attempt to help you out, could you please give a general idea of what you want this computer to primarily be used for?

That build is complete shit. I'll list the reasons why

1. The motherboard and CPU are incompatible

2. Why a VGA cooler, that is so useless.

3. 120gb SSD only? that will fill up in less than a day

4. 16gb of RAM, why? Waste of money

5. 750w PSU? is he going to run an SLI build?

6. Why the 6850? It is an old and fairly weak card.

Don't give out advice if you don't know what you are talking about.

That build is rather inefficient

Here is a better build.

CPU: AMD FX-4300 4 Core Processor

GPU: HIS Radeon HD7870 2GB

RAM: Corsair CMX8GX3M2A1600C9 8GB

Motherboard: ASRock 990FX Extreme3 Motherboard

PSU: Corsair CX-600 80+ Bronze Power Supply

Case: NZXT Source 210 Black with Window

HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB ST1000DM003

CPU fan: Coolermaster Hyper 212 evo

Keyboard + Mouse: Logitech G100 mouse and keyboard combo

Total cost is around 700 dollars depending on local prices. I don't know what monitor to recommend because I don't use any (I use my TV instead).

If you can stretch the budget I would highly recommended going with a intel i5 CPU instead of the AMD one

Lastly don't forget to factor in the cost of the operating system. I prefer windows 7 but it is up to you if you want 7 or 8. If you need to save any more money on the build you can downgrade the GPU to a 7850 without too much of a hit to performance also.

And try to learn to overclock if you can. It's very easy to do and can really improve performance.
