So I've desided to build my own PC insted of buying a new premade one. Mostly because I'd like and know how to do it, but it being cheeper doesn't hurt either =).

So I've looked on line for guides and stuff but there are lots of them and I don't really have a good way to evaluate the quality. So, anyone know of any good ones?
Also where should I buy parts?

Thanks!

Usually, the manual for the motherboard is very telling. Most, if not all, cords are called something which the plug on the motherboard also is called. The tough part, perhaps, is finding all the parts you want ; )

Assembly is easy, just make sure everything is firmly seated and nothing is shorting, plus make sure you install the CPU heat sink correctly.

The tricky part is the inital spec, if you don't know what you're doing its easy to buy kit that doesn't work together well or is not the best for your money.

The country your in would be a good start :p.
Lol. The USA.
Well I can't help you shop-wise, but I will say, buying a barebones is a nice start because the annoying stuff is out of the way, like putting that damn heatsink on!

http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/barebones.html Something like that is nice (of course its UK, so you will have to go a-lookin)

Oh and umm

CPU : Quad Core (preferably intel?)
GPU : Nvidia Geforce 9800gt (High-ish spec) or the GTX xxx series (ATI cards tend to blow up on me)
RAM : 4GB of DDR2 800mhz or DDR3 1066mhz +
Hard drive : 7200rpm of any size, depending on how much you plan to use

Any questions, just fire away lol
