Although the other guy put it more eloquently, this. I got a Dreamcast and Shenmue off a friend of mine, and the 3rd disc kept freezing at the same point. I refuse to look it up - I'll finish that game some day, even if it has to be the terribly-dubbed original Xbox version.Furburt said:

Also, while DCv1/2 was pretty awesome, I know of a Blue Burst Server that's up and running, and free too. Since Blue Burst is everything V1/V2, Episode 1 and 2 and 4 all bundled up, it's the ultimate and possibly only way to play PSO anymore. :O
PSU went down already? It didn't last as long as PSO did...how weird.
As for BlueBurts, I dunno, it's not the same. DCv1&2 were so much harder than GC/XBox, and BB is even easier. I loved v2 because of how hard it was, and how challenging C-mode was (god I LOVED C-mode), unlike nowadays.
As for PSU going down, they took out just the international PC/PS2 servers. Which means that the JP PS2/PC server, as well as the 360 ones are still going strong. They've recently moved to a DDO-like model in the JP PC/PS2 server, which is bound to keep it populated, and the 360 has always had a lot of people, so those will probably last for a few years more.
but Phantasy Star I II and II and IV are just terrible. Only the Universe series is good in my opinion, infact, it's fantastic.Akira Fumi said:

DC monsters are easy to counter, but episode 2 monsters are a bit more crafty. And on harder difficulties, they will easily 1 shot people. Delbite4rs on VH/Ultimate do insane damage if you can't freeze them first (no easy task). Just how I feel though I suppose. We should play sometime if you know what server I'm referring to!

But eventually, you reach the high levels, get the uber weapons, armour and shield available in BB, and well, it kinda loses challengue. At least that's what I hear. Never made it past level 60 in BB, tbh, but everyone I've talked to when I played in "that" server with the GC version (got GC, game fully original and a broadband adapter) said that they mostly went to GC from BB because BB eventually became easy mode, wiping the floor with the enemies as if nothing.
And I'd gladly play with you, if I had any character XD It's been easily more than half a year since I last gave BB a go, and the server deletes accounts that have been inactive for 3 months or more.
But I might give it another try, all this talk left me itching for some Booma bashing.
This list is incomplete! Where in the hell is Powerstone, Skies of Arcadia, Shenmue, and Grandia II? Fuck have I been wanting to play those games for so long.
And then there's PSO. The game I sunk so many hours into, doing the same things over and over all for the sake of Special Weapons. No game has ever put as much excitement in seeing something as those beautiful red boxes. They sent us scrambling towards them, mesmerized by their crimson sheen and promise within.
C'mon Microsoft, I might love you forever if you do this right.
