Fucking amazing. I love watching shit go down on buses and subways etc.
I'm quoting you because I want a base for my comment.

Everyone, go to 0:26. you should see the guy with the orange vest just about to sit down. When he does, the camera shakes and you notice the girl stepping in quickly, extending her arm towards the bus driver, and then stepping back out.

If someone lays their hands on you, do you have the right to defend yourself?

You can't win when someone accosts you and they are simply ignorant. In fact, the more intelligence you heap on them, the more angry they seem to get. It was a losing battle. He tried to keep it verbal, she touched him, he snapped.

I get it. At the end of the day, you, me, him, her, we're all still apart of the animal kingdom. We're not above things just because we want to feel different. You attack me, I attack you. Same in all forms of nature.

You start shit, deal with the consequences. Don't expect special treatment.
It's that simple.

"Unreasonable force" is quite apropos; I've found most angry people to be quite unreasonable.

Oh bloody hell not this again.
Inb4 all the dudes saying `WELL EQUALITY` with a bit too much relish (and these people are usually the ones who only care about `equality` when it's smacking someone in the face).

Snore
This.

Don't be a dick to people, no matter what your gender/race/age/etc.etc.etc.

That aside, the correct answer after punching her would have been to drag her off the bus (she looked, what, a hundred pounds, less? If it was the skinny girl I saw there.), drop her on the sidewalk, get back in the bus, and leave her ass on the curb.

Still, what is you people's deal with wanting to punch women? Is this a thing where once society says it's a no-no, you *really* want to do it? Like, if suddenly punching women was culturally acceptable, would we get over this? Or is this some kind of weird vengeance for what people perceive to be nonexistent "unfairness" (waaaahhhhh men always get accused, waaaaaahhh women are sacred and can do no wrong in the eyes of authority waaaahhhh I should have the right to beat up on someone and get away with it, too!)

It's assault and battery no matter who does it, quityourbitchin.

Anyway, here's a comic which sums up my opinion of the "gender war" concept here:

Well she hit him first apparently . Thats the problem . You hit someone you get hit back . What we saw was from a cellphone , the bus ( hopefully) will have cameras to prove he didn't get violent for no reason . Now the reason people get into a gender war is because she is a woman . Being a man , should he just let her hit him without retaliating. How are you going to advocate equality , while still keeping privaleges ( can't spellthat word) like " men shouldn't hit women". Is violence good? No , but one should have the right to retaliate when someone hit's them , be it man or women .

OT: Damit i came in hoping it wasn't a black woman , and by golly it was . I swear you never see white women getting all roudy and violent let alone hit by a bus driver .

Fuck, that was one hell of a uppercut. Not going to bother with the whole "equal rights" thing that may or may not stir.

Oh, and there's the inevitable Mortal Kombat remix

She got what she deserved.

If you're gonna attack someone, better be prepared to be hit back.

yay, not only is this a gender video, we get to add race into it!

(I am being sarcastic, don't take that as an attack or anything.)

You do realise the privileges you are talking about were started by men because they think women are so weak.

There are no women here going 'Oh my gosh he shouldn't have hit her because she is a woman.' NOT ONE, because that view in itself is sexist.

Stop making an issue up where there isn't one.

How did that even make sense in your head? The privileges they benefit from are outdated and completely undeserved at this point, so clearly that would be an real issue as opposed to an imaginary one. Not to mention how deliberately obtuse or sheltered one would have to be to believe even for a second that the majority of women in real life don't enjoy the benefits of the "never hit a woman" mentality, which thus perpetuates said mentality.

Or, are you suggesting that self-inflicted problems by men (even though that would implicitly generalize all men as one single entity) don't need to be addressed by women who claim equality? Cuz by that standard, women call each other sluts, so it's not my problem.

Are you serious? I can think of two videos off the top of my head which disproves that.

They may not be violent but they are definitely rowdy.

Being a dick isn't down to one race, it's culture not genetic.

On topic. Damn, bet her neck hurts!

I guess the genders are becoming more equal, not so long ago hitting a woman was unheard of outside of domestic abuse.

My issue is that the 'privilege' they claim we have was something started by men. Not one woman here, as I said in my original post, is saying that the guy had no right to defend himself because his assailant was a woman.

I'm not suggesting that second point at all, what I am saying is that they shouldn't get whiny about so called privileges they started in the first place and that no woman in their right mind believes in them.

Seems like you agree with me but you didn't read my entire post or something.

No true Scotsman fallacy. Plenty of women buy into that double standard, just like plenty of men do. That's why it's still the social norm.

I'd also like to point out that 'we' didn't start anything. Seeing as 'we' weren't alive when that double standard got started.
agreed on this, you cannot call out on something that 'we' didn't start, and at the same time you can't ignore that it is a culture/social thing that is still huge out in the world.

hell i remember this guy back in my senior year of high school, got 2 week suspension cuz some girl scratched up his face and he grabbed her by her weave and threw her down to get her off of him, and that is all he did, while she got one day detention.

their reason? "she was clearly not a threat and you should never do that." (while he had 3 wolverine like marks on his face from her.)

Yea... no. Historically, the majority of women have been complicit in their "oppression" (hence why feminism was opposed by even most women when it first started), but that doesn't mean women who are currently alive share any responsibility in that.

And trying to discredit it by calling it "whiny" is ridiculous. Some might say that complaining about a female character having a slightly low-cut outfit in a game where 95% of violence is committed against male characters is "whiny", among other things.

Despite them being 'complicit' it was still started by men. So you shouldn't complain about a sexist attitude that demeans women by saying they are no good in a fight since it's us that it's sexist against.

The same goes for front line service in the army, misogynists are always quick to dredge that up although the people keeping us from fighting are male. You can't group us all together as a hive mind that takes advantage of this so called privilege and then refuse to think of your own sex the same way, that's just hypocritical.

And the violence is to make you feel powerful, unfortunately some games developers don't want women to have power fantasy they are only concerned about male gamers.
