Right, so... According to the trope which is the title of this thread, there occur times - especially in media - where people will come across an event which for some is a pinnacle thingy in their lives...but for the other, it will be just another day. (Case in point, there's something going heinously wrong in Red Dwarf where the Starbug is being buffeted by severe shocks, controls are locked, and all the alarms are going off. As soon as Lister and Kryten walk in, Rimmer simply goes "Morning!" like this is just another day at the office.)

Alright, Escapist... Has any day been striking or important to some...but for you it was Tuesday?

The 21st was supposed to be the end of the world. I'm sure it was big for some people. For me it was Saturday.

Does that count?

The Royal Wedding. I found it hard to care about since I live in America and have never really studied English Royalty all that much. Plus even if I did care I would have to get up at like 3 in the morning to watch it live.

now I dont mean to be disrespectful in this regard

I was about..10, and didnt know about the twin towers let alone their significance, so i had no grasp on the impact of the disaster

because from my perspective it wasnt much different from any other disaster I would often see on TV, and I was kind fo confused as to why it was the ONLY thing on tv for the next couple of days

I just sort of went about my life

For most Americans...it was emotional.

For me, I got let out of school early.

I personally prefer the cartoon version of the Bison scene.
For me, any holiday that doesn't get me a day off work or school just isn't worth it

I was leading the glorious Red Green Revolution at the time, but yeah it counts.

I was only in 6th grade when that happened, so that's pretty much how it was for me, too.

Birthdays/New Year/holidays.

I celebrate nothing.
Same. I haven't celebrated a birthday or holiday since I was about seven. Often, I don't even know what days they fall on anymore.

On topic: the relevant video a.k.a the greatest scene in film history

Raul... you will be missed.

I use the "it was tuesday" as a brutal putdown, like the legend Raul Julia does here.

Any and all holidays where banks or businesses close. All those three day weekends Joe Average is so happy about? Yeah, I don't get any of them. I work July 4th, Halloween, President's Day, Easter, Labor Day, you name it.

As for profound? I'm gonna have to jump on the 9/11 bandwagon. Everyone I knew was like, "Gasp! Some TERRORISTS! Flew a PLANE! Into a BUILDING! They KILLED all those people!" I was like, "Welcome to what Europe and the Middle East have been dealing with for decades."

I was living in the Middle East at the time. And certain peoples' reaction there...

AWKWARD!
