The 360's online system is designed to milk money out of your pocket. Instead of using actual cash you have to buy Microsoft points. It's a pretty obvious "scam" but hey, what are you gonna do about it? Then there's also the fact that you have to pay for multiplayer. The justification for this is that Live also gives you Facebook, Netflix and a whole lot of other bullshit but the majority of players never even give all those extra features a thought.

PlayStation Network on the other hand lets you play online for free with the ability to have extra services for a fee. They also use actual money instead of points so that's always a plus. There's also absolutely no lag so no need to worry about that.

All in all, the PS3 is a pretty good console now that Sony managed to patch it up.

In regards to games I'd suggest getting Uncharted 2. It's an action adventure platforming game with a story similar to that of Indiana Jones in the sense that you visit exotic locations and search for artifacts. Killzone 2 apparently has a great single player campaign but don't quote me on this one as I've never played it.

As for multiplayer I'd suggest you get Bad Company 2. The campaign is decent but the multiplayer is where the game shines. If you've ever played old Battlefield games you'll absolutely love this.
