Buying bottled water is stupid.
So you say that your tap water tastes like crap? Well save up the money you have been wasting on bottled water for a month and buy one of those purifying pitchers or giant purifying containers.
With one of those purifiers, your tap water will taste even better than bottled water. Yes, you will have to buy a new filter for the purifier every once in awhile, but in the long run it will be way cheaper than buying bottled water, and there is less trash, or less you have to recycle.
Besides, if memory serves me, I think awhile back I heard that many bottling companies just bottle the tap water from the city they are based at.

This is where the benefit of living in Norway shines through.. We have some of the best tap water in the world..
And im so lucky yet, to live in that part of Norway that has the best tap water in this country..

They have also tested bottled water against tap water here, and no bottled water even comes close. They tested both minerals and taste, tap water is healthier and tastes better.

Only fully distilled water is free of minerals and thus poisonous for humans as it drains us from salt etc until its saturated. Healthy water is actually enriched with minerals, as our body requires them.
There are poisonous substances THOSE are filered out but not nutriants like magnesium o. O

But yes Germany doesn't have the highest standarts, americas are higher for example.
Yes i know that america gets a bad rep for health etc. but they're tap water standarts are very high, bottled water standarts aren't though and thats what everyone there drinks.

I only ever buy Seltzer (soda water), which for some odd reason is way cheaper then normal bottled water *shrug*
It depends where you live and what your use to. Some parts of America, the tap water tastes like sulphur and if youre not from that part of town you can taste it. Where I happen to live though, we got some of the best tap water in the U.S.

There is actually a good reason to buy bottled water on occansion.
When the water pipes break.
I currently live in El Paso and we had a flash snowstorm that took out half the cities water pipes ("We live in a warm climate! We don't need to spend money on weather-proof pipes!" -City Gov.) and most people were out of cleaning drinking water for a whole week. Sure would have been nice to have some bottled water then....

Never buy bottled water, but I sometimes bring tap water in a cola-bottle.
First of all, tap-water where I live (Copenhagen) tastes quite good (though norwegian water is much superior), and second, I'm not rich! A typical kiosk sells 500ml bottles of water for more than £1. Not that great value!

Small bottles of water can be convenient if I'm out of time in the morning to fill up my water bottle, or I don't want to carry it around; it's made of light metal, but plastic is still lighter than light metal.
And we used to drink carbonated water at home, because it's really good.
Now we have a fridge that filters the water, and it's great and clean. Otherwise, Edmonton water tastes like chlorine, which I'm not a big fan of. It's possible to drink it, but not without having to suppress a gag reflex from time to time.

I like my water with carbon sometimes, and that's the only reason I would buy a bottle of it. But most of my water comes from the tap. Or, it goes through my Brita pitcher first I suppose. In the US it's not like bottled water is any good, they just put tap water in bottles, so it's exactly like drinking tap. In other countries, I expect (I've never been so I don't know for sure) that the tap water is pretty gross, but here in the States there isn't anywhere where the tap water doesn't have decent filters and so on. So there really is no point, it's just the soda companies looking for more profit.
Oh geez. . .my parents stopped buying it because I became addicted and finished off the 60+ pack of bottled water in about 3 days. The stuff is freaking good!
I buy bottled water when I do no not live in a house with a well. Public tap water contains Chlorine, Fluorine, and usually some salts.
Here in Galway, Ireland, about 3 years ago Cryptosporidium (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cryptosporidiosis)got into the water supply for the city, it took the water supply board 2 weeks to tell anyone and a further 3 months to fix the problem. Alot of people got sick.
So, yeah, I have only been drinking bottle water since then.
