Buying games you already own... again!

I couldn't possibly list them all, but there are a few examples: I have the same games bought over different platforms, the same game bought in different regions and then there are just some straight up duplicates.

I've got the special edition Bayonetta on Wii U that has the port of the first game and then soon after got a copy of the first print edition which also contains both games just becasue the display box looked awesome.

I also have Zelda: Majora's Mask on the GameCube (the collectors edition disk) but got a New 3DS (even though I already have the A Link Between Worlds 3DS) and Majora's Mask 3D just so I could get the little Skull Kid statue.

I recently bought X:com Enemy Unknown and Assassin's Creed I, II, Revelations, Brotherhood, III and Rogue for PC. The reason being, that I had played them on PS3, but have migrated to PC.

I've easily spend over $300 on GTA V (Xbox 360, PS3, Xbox One, PC and cash cards). Being said, I only still own two of those copies, one because I can't sell.
The Fable and Mass Effect series have been a little like that too. I finally got all Mass Effect games on PC, so they're here to stay.

Does it count that I own Carmageddon 2 twice?

One was a re-release that shipped in a plastic jewel case thing, the other one is a close to mint big box copy I bought 2 years later.

I *think* I have multiple copies of GTAIII, and had 2 copies of GTA2, until I gave the PS1 release to a close friend of mine since I prefer the PC version of that game.

Oh, and dont ask me how many copies I own of Borderlands 2...
