Are you kidding me? This is a big deal! This completely goes against human rights, and shatters even the tiniest sliver of privacy. Why have I just heard about this now? This like something that would happen in a movie, the evil government watching your every move...

This is exciting! If this goes through, chaos will be unleashed in nearly every country around the world! They must have predicted that if they enforce this, they will be attacked by everyone! They can't be so ignorant to the consequences.

That's destroying evidence. The jail time is usually between 1 to 2 years if I remember correctly. I still don't get what the government was thinking when they decided to put pirates up there with murderers and rapists. We have serious crimes going on out there and apparently piracy is more important than all of that.

Sure, fine people who are caught pirating the same way you fine people who park in the handicap spot when they're not handicapped. There's absolutely no problem with that, but suing them for thousands of dollars because they downloaded a 2 dollar song is just plain overkill man.

Where is the Republican party on this there is no way in hell they would let it pass
Since when were they anti-Corporations and pro-average citizens? They're the last people go to as this is basically their wet dream.
The old republican party would have stood against this. The new right is a parody of it's former self. At any rate, it's not as if the Democrats have shown themselves to be much better in that regard, they have, after all, been keeping this from the public.

It is all about social progressives. The Democratic party, a long time ago, was hijacked by social progressives. It is just that in the last decade that they have gotten so confident in their power base that they just aren't hiding the fact of what they are now. This the Republican party now is just to use my favorite term, progressive-lite. They try and hide it, but since we know what the Dems are now, we can spot it in the majority of the Republican party. So in a sense we have the Dems(Fast Evil) and the Repubs(Slow Evil). Not everybody in each party is this way but there are few that can be seen.

As I see what this midterm election is going to turn out like, I am happy and hopeful. My party, the Tea party, is knocking off the plague of Progressive Republicans that had taken hold. With the movement growing, the Tea party will repair and bring back the Republican party of old, which stood for the rights of the people. We will also push for what this country needs, a smaller Federal government and stronger State governments, which is what our Founding Fathers intended. There would of course be a wide variety of sizes and powers of State governments, but the point was that there are multiple states so if you don't like the government in one, you move to a state that has a government you like.

The problem we have now is that the Federal government has gotten out of control and gigantic. It has too much control of what states can and can't do. If a state does something that the Fed doesn't like, then the state gets its hand slapped or some kind of shame on you gesture. Case in point, the idiocy of our government including Arizona in a report to the UN about human rights violations. This government is so keen on currying favor with other world powers that they shun and blame their own people for doing absolutely nothing wrong. I can't wait for the 2012 election, because we can finally get rid of the mistake that is Obama. Before his election, this country had only borrowed a total of 9 trillion dollars. During his presidency so far, he has already borrowed 3.5 trillion dollars and will be borrowing more soon. We need to find a way to tie his hands so he can't go reaching for our empty wallet to try and spend more money we don't have, on things that we don't need, like the social progressive health care system. I know our health care system needs work, but a social progressive system is worse than the old system, this new system is basically a big screw you to all our parents and grandparents.

Some of you talk about wiping your hardrives, does that mean they already know what you've already downloaded and can prosecute you, rather than catching you downloading after the law has been passed?
