C&C Generals mod recommendations

I dug out a few old RTS's recently, Generals among them, and I want to know if anyone knows any good mods to spice the game up. I tried installing Real Threat, but it stubbornly refuses to work, citing "technical difficulties". I'm running an unpatched version of the game, without Zero Hour, which a lot of mods seem to require. Any suggestions?

ok than . well it seem to be the best suggestion one could make, he wanted mods, he said if he had zero hour he could get mods, than asked what he should do.

IMO download as user made maps as possible. Most of the ones the game comes with are quite boring.
