CA is not so subtly teasing the Skaven for Total War: Warhammer II.

If you have not noticed CA for a the past weeks have been doing this "Ritual" event in thier website where if you answer the correct word for a riddle, you get an award. There has 3 of these Riddles so far, 2 of them were images of what is clearly Skaven imagry, and another is a Text Adventure game.

There are the 2 Concept Art for the Skaven:

As for the Text Adventure basically its about a High Elf or Dark Elf Scout that is exploring Ruins in the Lizardmen homeland of Lustria (South America) and essentially they found a Skaven Tunnel underneath it and the Elf Scout is killed by what is clearly a Skaven Gutter Runner.

But regardless, the Skaven are confirmed to be in Game 2. Soon the Filthy Vermin will rise from their holes to sweep across the world in a Vermintide!!!

Woooo Skaven!!! been having fun on my Dwarven campaign of Greenskin Genocide but Skaven seem like even more fun. I do hope we get their crazy variety of specialized units. I want my Clan Skyre snipers.

Isn't it pretty much a given they're in the game. The real question is if they're in the base game or are pre-order DLC.

They confirm that they are in the game as the 4th faction, the Pre-Order DLC is a new faction for the First Game and its most likely Norsca with Wulfrik the Wanderer as a Legendary Lord.

Norsca is basically the viking Chaos Mauraders units in the Warriors of Chaos roster expanded into their own faction.

CA is just playing up the act of "There are no Ratmen here" to hype up the Skaven so the whole act is in universe because the Empire tries to hide and deny the existance of the Skaven from the populace, usually disregarding them as just ratlike Beastmen and not something completely different.

I wonder if CA will pull the same shenanigans they did with Chaos Warriors at release. It's be awfully easy considering how anticipated this faction is.

CA confirmed that the Pre Order bonus is a race pack for the FIRST game. And its strongly hinted that its Norsca.
