I'd say Gears of War, if you haven't already tried it. Though I have it on 360, so I'm not sure if the PC experience is the same...

I heard PC isn't as good as xbox for that, it's still good just not as good.

Errrr, yes it is. Look at the Left 4 dead [http://www.l4d.com/info.html] website and you'll find a quote on there from PC gamer mag.

Or perhaps Army of Two.
NO! NO NO NO! I just beat that a couple days ago, did the entire campaign co-op with a friend. It's awful. Broken, imbalanced, and absolutely insipid. Don't waste your time. Besides, I don't think it's out for the PC at the moment.

If you're looking for a good co-op third-person shooter, I haven't played many on the PC, but I'd recommend Gears of War. The PC version has everything the 360 version has (as far as I know) plus the Brumak fight. Granted, Gears still isn't perfect, but it's light-years ahead of Ao2.

Other fun stuff is the Diablo games, quality RTSs like Rise of Legends, the Company of Heroes games, StarCraft, and WC3 (you can't do the campaigns together but doing online RTS battles and custom games with a friend is a LOT of fun).

Also, try the Tom Clancy shooters that have co-op (I think the GRAW and R6V games do, but don't quote me on that).

Borderlands 2 [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Borderlands_2] will probably be amazing. What ever happened to split-screen co-op anyway? It's far more satisfying to play with someone sitting in the room with you than some anonymous person who leaves half-way through. I think it's actually negatively affecting the design of coop games, because coop missions are designed to be played in short bursts with a group of random people rather than as a sustained session with a friend.

I was going to make a new thread about good co-op games, but everyone gets pissed when you don't use the search bar so I figured I'd be better off just contributing to this one.

Saints Row 3 has 2 achievements if you play through the whole story mode and activities in coop.

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light is a 2 player coop game.

Borderlands, Dead Island, Magicka has story-based 4 player coop.

Warhammer: Dawn of War II, Killing Floor, Dungeon Defenders, Payday: The Heist and the recent Syndicate have mission based coop modes.
