Thats not space. Its a SR-71 Blackbird. High Altitude Stealth Recon. The pilots' flight suits look similar to space suits. Seeing as how the SR-71 was retired after the end of the cold war, I'm guessing this all takes place in the 1966-1980s
There was space, if you pause it at the right frame you'll see.
Also,

I like what I'm seeing so far...

No, it wasn't in Space. Blackbirds are just capable of reaching extreme altitudes. But they never leave Earth's atmosphere.

Just because it's black, doesn't mean there's no air.

Yup, it's a Vietnam game.

Or so I would think it would be.

I'll see if this one is worth my money; it might be one of the few Vietnam games that actually are good.

Call of Duty: Black Ops may focus on a soldier that is the subject of a mysterious experiment.
= End of interest for me
Key word is may, don't jump to generalizations. I'm putting my money down on it being some sort of Communist Torture, to make him freak out and rat out America. So for sure it's cold war era.

Anyway, I believe in Treyarch. I've always liked 'em more than IW, too.
Nice to see I'm not the only person that feels Treyarch gets an unfair rep. I feel that W@W was at least decent in its story though I feel the series' singlplayer peaked at CoD2. Anyway, this at least looks interesting, we'll see as time goes on.
I've always preferred Treyarch to Infinity Ward. Mostly because of story reasons.

Don't get me wrong, Modern Warfare 1's story was great. But,
by by bringing back Soap and Price, and by killing off Roach in the last act, forcing you to play MacTavish again,
it transformed him from a soldier to cliched character.

Treyarch, however, focuses on new soldiers in every game, so they don't overstay their welcome.

Although badly executed, I liked Treyarch's attempt at an intertwined story in Call of Duty 3.

World at War was as close as we can get to actual war in the Call of Duty series.

And, if they can pull both of these things off together, I'll enjoy Black Ops.

Shit. 1-6 didn't even try. Well, 4 and 6 tried. But failed completely miserably.

Anyway, I believe in Treyarch. I've always liked 'em more than IW, too.

Also: YOU'RE IN PHILADELPHIA, TOM?!
4 didn't fail. It actually succeeded fairly well.

people people...just because you find it fun to hate something popular doesn't mean you gotta start throwing out that it's mediocre or containing no story

the games are (can be) fun and do have stories
you simply don't want to have fun with it
and it's just not a story you like

no judging here, just saying!

Yes it did. It had a bullshit slow-mo pistol shot ending, a generic nuclear war plot and setting, and no emotional pull outside of the nuklear detonation scene.

I expect this game to be very controversial because it looks like you may be gunning down some Vietnamese civilians from a chopper with no options to not fire on them as well as the fact that you will fight in Cuba and the Arctic. However, I can't wait to see the SR-71 mission.

I think that the single player campaign will be longer and be focused on just one or two characters. Hopefully it will last longer than Modern Warfare 2's campaign.

here's a tip: he doesn't have amnesia; he's being tortured.

So this is probably going to be the story of a special forces soldier (American most likely) fighting during the cold war in black ops missions in a) vietnam, b) south america, c) middle east (most likely Afghanistan) and finally d) somewhere in the tundra, my guess is Siberia.

He gets captured and is strapped up to electrodes ("double the voltage when he wakes up") and is given various drugs to break his mind, to the point where he nearly dies.

All seems fairly obvious to me. I like cold war drama.
my thinking with the electricity is that he could be undergoing CIA experimentation, I think it was called ULTRA, to turn him into a mindless super soldier, with the flashes being flash-forwards, rather than flash-backs. it might just be electroshock therapy, not torture...
MK ULTRA correct. If they are going down that angle it would be very promising.

The presence of an SR-71 would indicate to me that it is set during the Cold War. Also the Vietnam flashback could be to do with The Massacre of My Lai. If you've never heard of it I recommend you read about it

But what about the promised Call of Duty: Loli Warfare?

OT: I like the Vietnam setting though I really don't think it changes all that much. All call of duty is about "Hey, there's a bad guy over there, shoot him!" so setting is not really all that much of a difference. Now if they had anime-ish artstyle and mikuru beams *dreams*

I will agree it didn't have the best ending and the plot wasn't the most original but can't that be said about every modern war game since the original modern warfare's release? It had a memorable cast of characters in interesting locations and a decent villain to drive the plot. The fact that it has one of the most memorable moments in modern gaming is a testament to it's designers. MW2 is a different beast altogether. While still interesting with some really great setpieces (I'm looking at you levels set in war torn Washington), the constant murdering of player characters and the cartoonish super villainy of General Shepard made it feel a bit off. Not bad but not up to par with the first game.
