I'll wait a few months for the price to drop.

Or pick it up in Sainsbury's, everything's cheaper there.
Cpt good luck with that, it's two years later and COD4 is still 50 bucks.... or what would your equivalent be.... hmm 30 pounds?? Is that right?
http://www.amazon.com/Call-Duty-Modern-Warfare-Game-PC/dp/B001CC8UBG/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1248713494&sr=8-4

Wow that was so hard I almost had to Google.
Yes, it's not like the price would double, maybe triple, to send over seas to Europe (unless Amazon has places in Europe, in which case I retract it and you need to find it in Euros/Pounds)
Amazon does have worldwide branches and URLs in french, deutch, uk from 5 minutes of searching and yup still between £19.99 to £25.00 max.

Alright then, my mistake, though it would have been better to have found the localized Amazon in Euros/Pounds. Just sayin'.

I would but I imagine that I'm pushing it as it is with the number of posts relating to Amazon don't want to appear as if I'm advertising them or something >_>

More on topic yup Activision is being extremley hypocritical but if it's only for the one game it wont bother me so much, however if they try pulling this shit with Diablo III or Starcraft II then we have a problem.

Wait... People were gonna buy Modern Warfare 2? For the love of all that is fraggable why? If I wanted a rather boring shooter whose online multiplayer rivalled only the Neo-Nazis in terms of hostility I'd play Modern Warfare.

Still, Activision are acting like Satan. Anybody in their right mind wouldn't pay £55 for a game anyway. It'll probably still sell like its going to rot anyway.

It's widely speculated that if this price gouge succeeds, then Activision will push it to many other regions and do the same thing with many other games, like Diablo and Starcraft. What ever happened to the customer having the power? People are going "LOLOLOLOL They're just whiny bitches!", but why can't we complain about a price hike to a game that will inevitably make others follow suit?

10 euros isn't that much of a price increase? Yeah, tell me that when it's 40 euros higher than normal. Price increase is only natural, but they usually only happen every other generation of consoles/games, not within a generation and certainly not in this economy that Activision is oh so hypocritical about.

Um... This has been done before.
Plus it was on the front page of the website.

And it it bullshit
Damn, this story broke on the 16th?

Geez The Times is slow, took them almost 2 weeks to break it. At least it gets wider recognition, most readers of the Times don't care about games, it seems this price hike is being used as an example of how Britain is lagging behind in this recession and how consumers will directly suffer.

But my country is so fu**ed, I mean it is almost a 1:1 ratio of Euro to Pound.

Congratulations Gordon Brown, you unelected incompetent failure.
He's better than David Cameron though.

Play.com is where I hit up mah merchendise. It's only (only as in, cheaper than it's already large price) £45.

Hmm, Brown is pretty shit, but I don't plan to vote for David "just call me Dave" Cameron and didn't for the recent local elections either. But if I and millions of others don't vote for Labour (abstain or vote for any other left wing party) then Conservatives will get in as the left vote is split.

The Tories are NEVER elected into power, it is merely that Labour is repeatedly voted OUT! The same people always vote conservative, no matter what happens.

In fact splitting of the left vote has saved the Conservatives so many times it wouldn't be the worst idea for them to donate to the Lib Dem and Green party election campaigns! Yet there is still no way I can vote for Labour, not after all they have done.
