Look I'm no troll, this isn't trolling, Its a matter of opinion.
Call of duty BLOPS is a great game although it has some terrible mistakes and this bothers me a lot.
The spas-12 was invented in 1979 in the game you use it before that, in 68 and other years. Now this makes me mad because this game sells its "realistic warfare" so they should be more careful. I found this in wikipedia, Don't they have a military advisor?
This doesn't change the expirience just gets on my nerves.
So what about you, does this bother you?

EDIT: To a certian point BLOPS is trying to be realistic. To a certian point. And this I mean, it uses the weapons and the equipment that was used by soldiers (or is being used) in the time.

No. The game is fun, why should I care what period all these guns came from? Do you honestly think CoD is going to go for realism?

I remember there being a list of guns, over half of the guns didn't come out until after vietnam, but that shouldn't matter, A game should be judged on Gameplay, Story and Innovativeness, not historical accuracy.

Call of Duty fucked those up too don't get me wrong.

Seen this before. I honestly don't care since I don't have the first clue about guns. All I know is that they all seem to do the job--kill bad guy--with the same amount of effort. Now if you want insane, go play the zombie mode. Mine black hole grenades, a hurricane gun, a lightening guy, space blaster, a wined up monkey bomb. And keep in mind, these are mixed in with the 'real' weapons. Oh, and there are zombies. So yeah.
The best counter argument I heard to this was that, "Okay, then everyone would be using the same three weapons the entire game." Now, I don't know if that's true--like I said, no idea about guns--but if that's the case, then the game would be REALLY boring.

If only in real life after several enemy kills we could spawn helicopters with red squares around everything bad

they're just using the CALL OF DUTY name in big silver letters to sell more crappy games (it's the Cow of Duty !). if you haven't figured it out, then i'm sorry for you.

Didn't care for it overall, I prefer Modern Warfare in both Singleplayer and Multiplayer.

All I'll say is that if anyone tries to tell you that if CoD: Black Ops actually had weapons that existed in 1968 there would only be about three-or-so weapons, they obviously don't know a damn thing about weaponry that existed in that era. There are plenty of guns Treyarch could have included, but instead opted to throw in a bunch of guns that couldn't even have existed as prototypes in 1968.

Game's still fun, but it's historical accuracy is... well, there is no historical accuracy truly.

Well it certainly used to be. With gun sighting, realistic interpretations of war, and a multiplayer that embodied the way smaller infantry conflicts would happen in a fake reality. It was a realism based game, at least until COD4

My question to half the people before me... Why put your game in a historical setting if you're not going to bother being historically accurate? Make up your own damn conflict, it's not that hard. Also yeah, how the hell is the game NOT trying to be realistic by setting the game in real settings with real guns and with a very... non abstract art style. And no the zombies and ray guns don't count because they're so obviously unreal that it's clear they're there for fun. I'm simply calling the game out for being lazy. In any case i believe that you only see the zombies and ray-guns in multilayer and not single player.

Though... I wouldn't call a lazy research team a fatal flaw... Also i would look for a second, more reputable source than wikipedia, if only to confirm what the facts that are so easy to find there.
