Controversy
When I first heard of the game I got excited because it is the sequel to the game that changed the FPS genre. I followed the game to its release and went at midnight to purchase the game along with the millions of other people that got it that night. I went home and I beat the campaign that morning. The short but yet explosive campaign and left me on a high so I laid off the game the rest of the day. The next day I play live and notice that the maps are nothing like they were in four and camper friendly. While this was a turndown, everything else made it seem ok. The killstreak rewards were a nice addition (along with deathstreak perks) and the new guns and perks were to be expected. During that week I was on a high, the game to me was amazing and I could not believe how put together it was. Then as I went online, I read forums saying how overated/overhyped this game was and I didnt see it. Sure the campaign was short, but we knew that from before didnt we? The multiplayer didnt change the game like the first Modern Warfare did, but there were still enough changes to make it fresh.
I still think this game is amazing, other games that came out this year were amazing also but in my head this was GOTY 09, and I still don?t see why people bash this game. The game was more of the best, so whats wrong with that? Then when websites started to show GOTY awards this year I thought to myself that thisll show all the haters that it is the best. But Gamespot gave it to the quietest game of the year ?Demons Souls?, Spike TV gave it to Uncharted 2 and the jury is still out at IGN, but knowing them it?s going to Assassins Creed 2 or Uncharted 2.
Ive been gaming since I was child and I was able to tell how games would turn out, but for this one Im baffled. Maybe Im just not seeing it or Im just in denial, but can someone tell me why everyone is hating on it? I mean there is defiantly better games out there (not by that much in my opinion) but it deserves more credit than people are giving it.
