Two reason why WaW is different:
a) It is made by a different developer.
b) It is aiming for a different "feel" than the first CoD. In this WaW, it's trying to be CoD:MW.
Absolutely Treyarch is trying to copy COD4. In fact, WAW is such a direct copy/paste job that many of the problems present in COD4 are still around in WAW (knife lag, host quitting ends the entire session, etc.) Don't get me wrong, I loved COD4's multiplayer. I'm just a little irritated that Treyarch charged us full price for what is essentially a mod of COD4. Same game, different models. It's a shame, really. The one truly original part of WAW, Nazi Zombies, is such a blast to play that that is literally the only thing me and my friends play when we play WAW. If only Treyarch had extended this originality to other aspects of the game instead of jumping on the COD4 bandwagon, I personally would play it a LOT more.

I agree completely. I bought the game on the day it came out for the full price, brought it to a friend's house to play, and discovered that I had payed 60 dollars for a mod.

Not as much as I did in Call of Duty 2. Veteran is too hard, but I do plan on playing it. Also I finished it in 1 sitting on normal.
