first i have my IT course to go to at tafe, but once i'm home, Whatever i feel like doing to entertain myself. might take a look at that nasty ol' steam backlog of mine.

i might do well to keep away from facebook during the day though. there'll be more moping and whining plastered all over the place than normal.

i was also thinking of trolling women all day but i don't really have the drive to bother with that.

I've already asked a girl I really liked - got rejected
Today I'm gonna go to a geeky convention thing
that still fails, I'ma head to the student union bar on V day, and see if there are any girls that are interested :/

Most likely though, I'll end up Tue evening alone and miffed. *shrug*

I need to learn to be more cool, and relaxed, as well as reading other people/surroundings.

Work until 4 PM, then later a friend of mine is coming over for some food and TV, probably Entourage. I didn't realize that it was actually happening on Valentines Day until I saw this thread. :p

Seriously? That's exactly what I'm going to do. Did I just make a new account to post this, forget I did it and stumble upon it later and realize I'm actually amazed at plans I've already made? It would explain the join date and the total post count being one.

It's shitty advise why? Because it goes against what you've been told is the 'right' thing to do?
Under ~24 is generally young. How can you make a good decision on what you want in a person at that age when so much about you is changing? You certainly can't decide who you want to be with for the next 4 decades, or even 5 years. Currently Western life is one where you don't have to be as mature as you did in the past, so you are less likely to know what you want in a partner at a young age.
With Hollywood and music focusing so much on relationships, as well as the breakdown in the family unit and emotionally supportive friends, people end up hopping into relationships asap to fill that emotional void in their life.

I don't have women issues but honestly this is where I'm at after meeting literally hundreds:

1)Most women are insecure. Whether it's on the surface or not is a different matter.
2)Many do not have any hobbies.
3)Intelligent ones tend to not be terribly attractive, which is not helped by their lack of fashion sense.
4)Attractive ones tend not to be intelligent, but seem to be more socially able. Doesn't take a genius to put points 3 & 4 together and come to a logical conclusion as to why that is.
5)Intelligent ones are rarely in shape and the ones that are in shape tend to be very rough.

Now that's not a list to argue with; that's my personal experience of British women. Hopefully it's clearer why I took the position that I did with relationships. That and every long term relationship I've seen that hasn't been based on lasting parental problems have fallen apart.
Plus I'm old enough to have seen many relationship but not old enough to be jaded. I've no problem in getting women myself, but 99% of the time it would be a waste of time as most women are just messes (based on experience etc etc).
I'd say it's shitty advise because women are not how you say they are. Yeah, sure, you might have experienced a shitty selection, but that's a heck of a view of things really, it's a fucking great generalisation made off your experiences. If you find someone you like, and they like you relationships are great. Fantastic. I'm dating an intelligent and beautiful girl who at the moment I can't think of any reason to break up with. I'm 19. Sure, it might end in the future, reasons may appear, but I'm very happy whilst it's lasting and I get something more meaningful than random hookups.
I advise people to go into relationships if they like the person. If it lasts a month, who cares? It's an experience. If the person has issues? Give them advice and then if they can't fix it themselves and you can't deal with it, say so and leave. If someone's stupid as fuck, give them reasons to learn, and don't sink to their level and just use them as a sex object.
Maybe it's just the group of friends I'm with, but fuck, they're all so wonderful and intelligent. I do not experience many people who fit to your list.
As long as you're open with your partner you're all good. I do like your advise of not just leaping headfirst into relationships though. Get to know a person. Spend a week or two with them. Then ask them out.

HARDLY ANYTHING.
Both my gf and I think it's a stupid concept and we aren't really into the idea of romance.
We will be in QLD (Inter-state holiday) with three other girls (Woo, imma playa. Jokes, they're all friends) so I might buy her something purdy if I see it. But that's it.
I am however posting a cat or two

If you love someone, doing something for them on one day of the year is stupid. Do it when you feel like it. Show them they make you happy. In fact, you shouldn't even do that, it should be obvious.

Celebrating Valentines with a nice dinner with my family, like I have done for every single other Valentines day I can remember. Pretty much it.

Pfft. I have my family, books, games and my friends.

Who needs meaningless high-school relationships anyway?

I'm gonna be sleeping, then working, then nothing. I work nights, so I'll miss most of the day anyway. I'll be ok though, I might be single, but I get ALL the candy!

There are people who actually celebrate this ridicolus thing? Though I should've known such a thing as this is way bigger in America than it is here. It's just a ploy to make us buy more shit we don't need. Do you people need dates determined by states and corporations to show affection towards the people you care about? If so, you're pathetic.

I'm the only single one in our group of ignoramuses, so I'll take advantage of not being attached at the lips to another person by stealing all my friend's candy. :3 I swear, it's almost as good as Halloween!

I'm going to buy all the chocolate I'd be expected to give as gifts.
And then I'll eat it all myself, 'cuz I need to show myself some love every now and again.

It's just another day. That said, I'll send off a couple of valentines, and probably drink myself to a hangover the night before.

haha all I can say is that great minds must think alike! have I been maintaining a semi-active account on here without concious knowledge of it? I mean I've been known to have memory gaps after I wake up some days but that would be a twilight-zone-esque freaky notion.
bromancing aside, i'm just a long time forum lurker and "big-picture" watcher, couldn't resist dropping my plans here.

is it just me or is Hanako's campaign a 1000 times more plausible and heart-wrenching than all the others despite it's slightly shorter length?

I should also add that there will be many rounds of Settlers of Catan on the forsaken fourteenth.
