Tired of sitting through boring crappy songs on your Guitar Hero/Rock Band game, and when the one song you like comes up, it's not even that great? Don't buy the game next time.
Instead, we should try and get Activision to consider making a Guitar Hero: Metal game, and I don't mean metalcore/deathcore i mean REAL METAL. I'm pretty sure with the popularity of the escapist, we would be able to convince Activision to create it.
Only a few things are in our way. If you want a game like this, we need to come up with a plan to get this thread to Activision.
Don't tell me that no one is going to buy it, because i know many people will. Also, change is good, right? So why not try something new, besides this weak Heavy Metal garbage like GH: Metallica?
BIG POINT: I'm not a fan of Plastic Instrument games, but if something new is released, I might just want it.
OH, and please post some bands that you think should be on there. Avoid Nu, -Core, and Grind.
Here's some bands that i think would make a great addition to the game:

x Gorod (Technical Death Metal)
x Psycroptic (Technical Death Metal)
Necrophagist (Technical Death Metal)
Atheist (Technical Death/Thrash)
x Diablo Swing Orchestra (Avant-Garde Metal)
x Hieronymus Bosch (Progressive Death Metal)
x Vintersorg (Progressive Folk Metal)
Finntroll (Folk Metal)
x Nokturnal Mortum (Black Metal)
x Obscura (Technical Death Metal)
x Codeon (Technical Death Metal)
x Symbyosis (Technical Death Metal)
Symphony X (Neoclassical Metal)
x Turisas (Folk Metal)
Children of Bodom (Melodic Death Metal - I really don't like these guys, but they would help the game get sold)
x Artillery (Technical Thrash Metal)
Annihilator (Thrash Metal)
x Coroner (Technical Thrash Metal)
Nevermore (Thrash/Progressive Metal)
Liquid Tension Experiment (Progressive Metal)

By the way, the list was made out of what I think people would like to play, not everything i like. Try to make your lists the same, and comment on the idea of a game like this!

EDIT: I Put an X next to the ones that aren't mainstream.

Before Carbonel gets in here, Dream Theater.

And if they make Cello Hero, Apocalyptica.

Good idea, I have always said this. But just not regulated to what you see as metal. There are many types and forms and it has a wide ranged audience. If you only limit it to one or a few kinds then you would be taking the purpose away.

In Flames
Children of Bodom
Trivium
John 5 (for some epic guitar solos)
Rob Zombie
Dark Tranquillity
Slipknot
Tool
Adversary
The Black Mages
Metallica (but only a little of them)
Manson
Disturbed
Ministry
Nine Inch Nails
Sabaton
Girugamesh
36 Crazyfists

There you have a list of awesome metal bands to have in.

Yeah, you're right. I only listed my knowledge of good music, my taste, and what i think would be fun to play on a plastic instrument.

*sighs*
Firstly, why specifically Guitar Hero? Secondly, even if this thread is against Rock Band and Harmonix in all forms for having an exclusive metal game, why Activision? Honestly, do you want another charting massacre to happen like from Smash Hits? And third, I'm not catering to anyone else's preferences.

AGAIN. Music is a touchy subject for some. It makes you come off as a troll if you say what you stated previously as your knowledge of good music, as to imply groove/nu/'core/grind isn't good. Subjective, subjective, subjective.

Well, not sure how many people like hardcore metal and strumming away on a fake guitar.

Either way, it's worth doing a survey atleast. They did Guitar Hero: Metallica after all.

For the Activision thing, i was using it as an example.
And the "good music" thing, i could have rephrased it, but after 5 minutes of thinking, i thought that people would realize it's an opinionated thing to say. Hey, be happy i wasn't a hypocrite.

Or you could just learn to play a real guitar instead.
What? C'mon, that's just a rude thing to say, people enjoy these games, no need to chastise them like a jerk.
Hardly as rude as claiming the only good music is metal, and that you need not like anything else.

As this OP said above.

I wrote i didn't enjoy playing on plastic instruments. If i actually said i played guitar, and better than the average person at my age, i would sound like a presumptuous cock.
Unless you were referring to the other people, of course.

Thats a fair bit of tech-death, nice list of bands but I dont ever see any of them short of CoB or LTE making it onto any form of band game, but even if they did make a guitar hero game with GOOD music, I still wouldnt get it

What's wrong with groove metal... DevilDriver would be perfect for Guitar Hero.

Also, it's impossible to mention Guitar Hero without someone saying "LERN TEH REEL GUITAR NUB" so I always have to point out that I play the real guitar and Guitar Hero. Both quite well.

I was done with this idea as soon as you called Metallica garbage.

*goes to play his real guitar instead of pounding on plastic*
