Ohh man.. The OP reminded me why I love metal heads so much.

I think the closest to a GH: Metal game you'll get is a DLC pack, and even then I can only see the bigger metal bands get put in mainly because metal bands are to kvlt to let there songs go into a game, despite what their marketing team tells them.

Fact about me: I don't play the guitar, but dont tell me to do it, cus then im telling your child to stop playing the Sims and go out and build a house, furnish it, get a job, make friends and raise a family with a start budget of 20.000$...

This would never make it. You might be surprised that not everyone listens to metal. This idea would flop fasted than you can say, "OH SHIT! A TOMATO!" So yeah, maybe they should make a game based off of user ideas, but all metal...just...no. And to whoever said Metallica sucked, they still have more talent than you any day, just remember that.

but to contribute, i'd say some opeth (surprise surprise), like bleak or heir apparent. also In flames, but not the shitty songs they chose on the other games (okay, i liked take this life), like the clayman songs (pinball map, clayman, swim). just my two cents.

Too bad this will probably never work but here is my (and my friends) suggestions. First thought: Why not just make a DLC Metal Pack? Have like 20 songs and charge like $20-$25 for it.

See this list is better than the OP's because, although it's basically all mainstream, it's generally good bands with a decent amount of variety. The OP's list may attempt to appease all hardcore metal heads, but even that misses many demographics like 80's power metal fans, hair metal/glam metal fans, among other things while providing a list that would just leave most of the consumer base (as in, the people who would help this game make money) scratching their head.

Oh and you've got a better chance with Harmonix than Activision, just throwing that out there.

I've been saying this for a while now... everyone kept telling me "oh... GH3 was pretty much GH: Metal"... have those people ever listened to metal? Seriously... Slipknot, Iron Maiden, In Flames, KSE, Slayer, Metallica... might have forgotten one... oh, and sorry, but I don't consider Disturbed metal... more hard rock... If you want some insane stuff, put Within the Ruins or After the Burial in it... With Faith or Flames is pretty awesome too... Also, some HSB, Caliban, more All That Remains, Remembering Never...

Yeah, I was in an overexcited mood when i wrote this thread. My list really is all private bands, but i guess this person's makes more sense. If there's more classics there's more of a chance people might buy it. And whoever wrote about the DLC pack, that's a really good idea, instead of wasting money on a separate game...
But the upside to the bands i listed is that people will get to know some underground bands.

Personally, I think this idea is absolute garbage.

The metal that you (as to say, the OP) listen to is a genre that is absurdly repetitive, and the lyrics are boring as hell. Chords are always the same throughout the entire song, and let's face it, I still don't get why people choose to scream like they've got a leech hanging off their throat instead of singing like a normal person (for this reason, despite the fact I don't like them that much, Linkin Park is better band). Even then, I don't get why people choose to listen to them in the first place, IMO.

There's a reason why they're underground - music-wise, they're not very good! If you've heard them once, you've heard them all - it all sounds the same, which is why they aren't very popular compared to other genres. Which leads to this: if they make a GH Metal, it wouldn't sell that much.

The only ones I'd pretty much agree with is Metallica (yes Metallica), Iron Maiden, Motorhead and Ozzy Osbourne.

How about you go get a real freakin instrument that way you can play twinkle twinkle little star, or maybe something like Slayer should you choose. trust me, you'll feel more accomplished, i'm a guitarist myself. I guess you got a point, but i do know how to play guitar, and pretty well at that.
This thread continues to amuse me. The score is about half and half, but people don't like my choices of tech-death. I don't remember what I could have written to offend so many people, and I'm too lazy to go back and check. It's not like i said "Metal is the only form of music that should be listened to" although I could have made people think that. I of course do enjoy jazz and classical a lot too.
That being out of the way, I managed to piss a lot of people off, and I am beginning to wonder if there's a way to self-lock a thread.
